Fiennes - Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind - score
This is my setting of William Shakespeare's poem 'Blow, blow, thou winter wind' from his play 'As You Like It', though I have omitted the refrain in both verses. It is for six parts, SSATBaB, and sung here by me with two voices per part.
Scored using Sibelius.
Text:
Blow, blow, thou winter wind,
Thou art not so unkind
As man’s ingratitude;
Thy tooth is not so keen,
Because thou art not seen,
Although thy breath be rude.
Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky,
That dost not bite so nigh
As benefits forgot:
Though thou the waters warp,
Thy sting is not so sharp
As friend remembered not.
Scored using Sibelius.

Fiennes - Coventry Carol - score
Просмотров 6563 года назад
This is my setting of the traditional English Christmas carol, the Coventry Carol. It is for five parts, SATBaB, and sung here by me with two voices per part. Scored using Sibelius. Text: Lully, lullah, thou little tiny child, Bye bye, lully, lullay. Thou little tiny child, Bye bye, lully, lullay. O sisters too, how may we do For to preserve this day This poor youngling for whom we sing, "Bye b...
Fiennes - The Height of Spring
Просмотров 1144 года назад
Playback using Sibelius Sounds, hence some of the odd phrasing, dynamics, sounds, etc. An orchestral composition based on the idea of spring. It is not intended to imitate any sounds associated with spring, rather the envisaging of spring-like tranquillity. Instrumentation: 2 flutes; 2 oboes; 2 Bb clarinets; 2 bassoons; strings with divisi. Photo by Richard Hurst.

My first go at a renaissance-style piece, possibly in the style of Palestrina, though some of the harmonies are typically English. Sheet Music here: drive.google.com/file/d/1hqvzbzV5UMbwVb2W00tKa7H1VRJalW2Z/view?usp=sharing Composed by me and recorded by 12 me's. I might have gone a little over the top on the false relations! This is written with an SAATBB choir in mind, but would most likely w...

Demasiada velocidad, Vierne ni para interpretar su obra era asi de rapidisimo, y hay una variante ritmica en la segunda parte nada congruente con la primera, o lo toca rapido o lento todo, los vieogramas existentes de Vierne demuestran lo contrario
Where can download this sheet?
Too fast i-m-o - and yes, I am a pipe organist, tho not to this standard. I heard it played by Isabelle Demers, a Canadian organist, and it was superb!!
He's playing the notes but it lacks majesty because of tempo.
Tempo by itself is irrelevant with organ music. The amount of reverb in the hall or church should lead a performer to the best tempo. Lots of reverb can smush notes together. It surely does here, unfortunately.
please re-upload the notes
Very nice but very hard to sing
When you only have 3 minutes in beetween two pieces and you urgently must go to toilette.... horrible tempo. Imagine this wonderful piece played in saint-sulpice with this tempo....
There is a lot of great playing here. Bravo whoever it is. But it just needs more work in a few sections.
The starting tempo is fabulous and correct, but it unfortunately becomes erratic, slowing down in the next section.
I love building dams in creek.
Get a life and stop harming the environment.
It is good for environment because dams are holding water and and watering environment
i'm yet to find a performance of this that isn't absolutely rushed. It seems many players would rather show off than play it as marked, which is a shame because the given tempo really works well.
I think you are quite right. It is much easier to run away with some pieces than to play them with the control and discipline they require. I once heard someone play the C major prelude from the Well Tempered Clivier some where between largo and adagio. It was stunning. I've played it slowly ever since.
7:56
Am I eccentric for liking Tortoises the most?!
Who is perfoming this and on which organ? I'd like to try and find it on iTunes.
Fantastic transcription!
I love this tempo - my only critique would be some lift on the chords that are marked as such in the pedal thematic material. Not that I'm a great organist or anything, but I did wonder why not observe the lifts...

I also know the Choral, which is inworked Here. The original Text ist German and is from the 17th century (Jerusalem. du hochgebaute Stadt...)
Does the text be from medieval Times written by an old Poet or from our Times written by a modern author at the Tradition of such old Poems? At the description is to read "Anon". Who is Anon?
9mo since your comment, but for posterity… the text comes from the Engelberg Manuscript (Engelberg 314), which came from the Benedictine monastery at Engelberg. As such it’s probably a Renaissance era text, though the exact author and date of composition is unknown
Love watching the score but HATE this interpretation. So little articulation and musicality. Bleh!
A bit too fast for my taste
Same here. Who is playing? and where?

J’aime beaucoup la jouer à la flûte traversière
Many forget that the true original version of the swan is for two pianos and cello, rather than cello.
Yes!!!! The piano ambiance helps build emotion
I was listening to this just now, and noticed how he works the dialog between the violins and the lower strings. Which makes it seem, even more, like the soundtrack for a young lady appearing at her parents' party and being granted her first sips of champagne ("Please! Please!" she says)-- with her parents talking to each other in the background and trying to keep her from tipping things over. You can hear them at the end, going "whew!"

"Aquarium" reminds me of a Tim Burton movie.
Fabuloso
I love how "pianist" is a type of animal lol
😭😭😭
Why moment on 15:05 sounds like Dance macabre? It's so confusing
That's because it is. It's a joke, search up on Wikipedia
Y does it sound lie, teinkle twinkle littol star 😕😕😕😕😕🤣🤣🤣🤣🎩🧣🧣🧣👄👗👣
@@kennytran2860 I searched it after watching this video. That's interesting
Its because danse macabre is about skeletons and they are made of bones… pretty punny 🤣
How do I download this?
It would have been courteous to have acknowledged the lovely performance by Tenebrae.
There are 11 players, and 14 movements. Aside from the first movement, the final movement, and Swift, one of the movements where just the pianists play, each instrument has their own movement. Flute: Aviary Clarinet: The Cuckoo in the deep woods Armonica: Aquarium Xylophone: Fossils 1st Piano: Pianists 2nd Piano: Kangaroos 1st Violin: Hens and Roosters 2nd Violin: Personages with Long Ears Viola: Tortoises Cello: The Swan Bass: The Elephant
Legal !!!!
How is the Tortoise movement the viola movement? It’s played by all the strings.
This recording gives me second alto envy.
I really enjoyed listening to this and reading along with the score. Thanks!
악보는 어디서 구매할 수 있나요?
10 clicks slower at the start.
Why sound out of breath?!
It's funny how the tortoises movement lifts up the Can-Can from one of Offenbach's operas.
The fossils movement is also amazing because it is lifted from a composition by the same composer as Carnival Of The Animals, Camille Saint-Saens.
I really liked the cuckoo bird song
I like the aquarium part and the fossils and the finale.
It's so strange to hear the Pianists play correctly! It's scored for them to explicitly play the notes wrong!
i know your comment is old. and im sorry. but i do agree. i was shocked when i saw this. I performed the score many years ago for a small chamber ensemble. and i remember our director screaming at the pianists to play it wrong on purpose lol.
@@williamdrake9864where was that part?
ממש אני כול יום אחרי הבית ספר אני שומע את השיר המדהים הזה
My choir is performing this song this year, and wow it's pretty hard! But so worth it, it's so beautiful~
