    Hi Doctor Does the Pico laser treatment work for the change of skin pigmentation due to Ashy dermatosis or LPP?

  • @lifesymphony2024
    @lifesymphony2024 12 дней назад

    I didn't see any immediate effect after the treatment. But, my face has brighten up a little in 2 months. I don't know which actually brighten my face. The laser treatment or Salicylic acid brightening essence which I use on a daily basis. The reason I opt to try Pico laser is to see what difference it make to years of pigmentation deep under the skin. Can I get a crystal clear even skin tone all over my face. I have seen that happening with SKII skincare REGIMES and Miracle White just within 3 months. As long as I use them, no issues on the skin. I had a beautiful flawless complexion. Once I stop using them, the uneven skin tone reappear. Of course, I was very much younger. I want to lift my sagging cheeks and get a V shape face.

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 6 дней назад

      Hello @lifesymphony2024, thank you for sharing! Pico lasers can be effective for targeting pigmentation deep under the skin. Although results may vary from person to person. Skincare products, like the salicylic acid essence you mentioned, can definitely contribute to skin brightening and overall skin tone. In your situation, both the pico laser and your skincare routine may be working together to improve your complexion. If you're also interested in lifting sagging cheeks and achieving a V-shape face, other treatments might be worth exploring. Some options include radiofrequency treatments, ultrasound therapy, or even dermal fillers. However, if you have specific goals in mind, it's always best to consult a dermatologist, they can assess your skin, discuss your options, and help you create a personalised plan with your goals in mind.

    I am breaking out like crazy and is getting acne scar. I feel like it did the opposite for me skin.

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 6 дней назад

      It's definitely frustrating when you feel like a treatment isn't giving you the results you hoped for. Pico lasers are often used for things like acne scars and pigmentation, but everyone's skin can react differently to treatments. While it's less common, some people might experience a breakout after a pico laser session. This could be due to a few reasons, like skin sensitivity or the skin's natural response to the treatment. If you're experiencing significant breakouts or feel like the pico laser had a negative effect, it's best to reach out to the clinic to request a follow-up appointment to address your situation.

    Does it reduce facial fat?

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 6 дней назад

      Thank you for your question! Exilis is a type of technology that uses radiofrequency energy to heat the skin. It's often used for things like skin tightening and can also target fat cells. It's important to have realistic expectations, as Exilis might be more effective for some people than others. If you're considering Exilis for facial fat reduction, it's a good idea to consult a dermatologist. They can assess your specific situation and let you know if Exilis is a suitable option for you. They can also discuss other potential treatments or approaches that may be more suited for you.

    I am using 2% salicylic acid face wash twice a day and salicylic acid serum thrice a week. Is using this much amout is good? But i can barely see the breakouts should i continue it? My skin type is oily ( too much)

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 6 дней назад

      It's great that you're being proactive with your skincare! Salicylic acid is a popular ingredient, especially for oily skin, because it can help unclog pores. It can help to exfoliate the skin and can be found in different strengths in various products. Using a 2% salicylic acid face wash twice a day and a serum three times a week might be a bit much for some people, even with oily skin. Overdoing it with salicylic acid can sometimes lead to dryness or irritation. Keep an eye out for any signs of dryness, redness, or irritation. If you notice any of these, it might be a good idea to cut back a bit. If you have any concerns or are unsure, it's always a good idea to visit a dermatologist for personalised advice to your skin.

    What if I turned-on the machine without water?

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 6 дней назад

      Hello @ispo09, thank you for question! The thing about lasers is that they generate a lot of heat! That's why many laser machines, including pico lasers, use water for cooling. Running the machine without water runs the risk of machine overheating, machine damage and even safety concerns. Laser equipment is designed with specific operating requirements, and it's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions. If you require pico laser treatment, it is highly recommended to visit a clinic with a dermatologist who is experienced in the use of pico laser to administer the treatment for you to avoid creating a dangerous situation for yourself and others!

    I saw a derm say not to use retinol on your neck..confused

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 6 дней назад

      Hello @melt2947, thank you for your comment! It's understandable to be a little confused! Here's the thing about skincare: what works for one person might not be ideal for another. Retinol is a pretty well-known ingredient that can help to reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture. However, the skin on the neck can be a bit more sensitive than the skin on your face and some people might find retinol a bit irritating on their neck, while others do just fine with it. If you're thinking about using retinol (on your neck or anywhere else), it's always a good idea to start with a lower strength and lower frequency and gradually increase in strength and frequency, making sure to pay close attention to how your skin reacts. If you have any specific concerns or sensitive skin, it is recommended to visit a dermatologist to get personalised recommendations for your skin.

    Mam what to do when lh level is high? Can it cause hair thinning? And how to cure it?

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 6 дней назад

      LH, or luteinising hormone, plays a key role in the body's reproductive system. High LH levels can be associated with a few different things. High LH can sometimes be linked to hormonal imbalances, such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS can indeed cause hair thinning or hair loss in some people. However, hair thinning can have many causes, so looking at the bigger picture is important. If you're concerned about high LH levels, it's best to chat with a medical professional. They can help figure out the cause and discuss ways to manage it. They'll also be able to tell you if it's related to any hair thinning you might be experiencing.

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 6 дней назад

      Hello @RG-xm2cr, thank you for your question! Generally speaking, PICO and HIFU are both non-invasive skin tightening procedures that can be effective for treating sagging skin. It is important to note that everyone's skin is different, and the best treatment option for you will depend on your individual needs and goals. Speak to a medical professional who can help you determine which treatment is right for you.

    Hello! I’m thinking of trying a salicylic acid cleanser for my blackheads and whiteheads, would it cause skin purging the first few days? And also, if the whiteheads and blackheads clear up, should I keep using it?

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology Месяц назад

      Salicylic acid is a great option for managing blackheads and whiteheads as it helps exfoliate and unclog pores. Some people may experience mild purging initially, as it speeds up cell turnover and brings clogged material to the surface. This typically resolves within a few weeks. If your skin clears up, you can continue using the cleanser to maintain results, but it’s important to avoid overuse to prevent dryness or irritation. For the best guidance tailored to your skin type and concerns, consider consulting a dermatologist before starting a new product. Hope that helps!

      Hello, thank you for your question! What frequency to use and WHAT INTENSITY, FOR A GREY/DARK TATTOO? For the BLUE laser to remove a black or gray tattoo, it needs to be set at a 1064nm (non-ablative) wavelength. How to know what intensity or frequency bar 1064nm is on the Neatcell picosecond BLUE laser?

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 2 месяца назад

      Using at-home lasers like the Neatcell for tattoo removal can be risky and may lead to scarring or pigmentation issues if inappropriately used. While 1064nm is suitable for black tattoos, only a trained professional like a dermatologist can safely adjust the laser's intensity and frequency tailored to your skin type. Professional clinics use advanced, FDA-approved in clinic lasers for safe, effective results across all skin types, it is highly encouraged to visit a qualified professional for tattoo removal.

    Hi Doctor, Glad to see this informative video. I have a doubt regarding the tattoo removal 5cm×1.5 cm under collar bone. Black coloured. I am an Asian (India) with fair skin. I want to remove my tattoo amd I am confused whether to get it removed via laser or plastic surgery. Plastic surgery will also leave a scar and laser also leaves fading. Can any laser treatment make the skin looks tge same as before getting the tattoo?

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 2 месяца назад

      Hello! Generally, surgical tattoo removal isn’t usually recommended due to scarring risks, especially for larger tattoos, which may lead to wider or raised scars. Laser tattoo removal is a less invasive and more commonly used method, though it often requires multiple sessions depending on the ink density. Black tattoos typically respond well to laser treatment, especially with wavelengths like 1064nm and 755nm. For personalised advice, especially if scarring is a concern, consult a dermatologist.

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 3 месяца назад

      Hello @Chhonwa, thank you for your comment! Generally, it's safe to use salicylic acid twice a day in lower concentrations (usually 0.5%-2%). However, overuse may lead to dryness or irritation, so it's important to monitor your skin's reaction. If you notice any redness, peeling, or excessive dryness, consider cutting back to once a day or every other day. Always apply a moisturiser afterward to keep your skin balanced and use sunscreen during the day, as salicylic acid can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. It's best to consult a dermatologist to tailor your skincare routine to your specific needs. Hope this helps!

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 3 месяца назад

      Hello @sonny92704, thank you for reaching out! Glad to hear that your kidney transplant is doing well. When considering laser tattoo removal after a kidney transplant, it's crucial to consult both your dermatologist and your transplant specialist. Laser tattoo removal typically targets the ink in the skin without affecting deeper tissues or organs. However, individuals who are immunosuppressed may have slower healing or a higher risk of infection, so careful evaluation is necessary. I recommend attending an in-person consultation where the professional can discuss your medical history and potential risks to ensure that laser treatment is safe for you. Your transplant team can also provide guidance to minimise any complications. Take care, and feel free to reach out with any other questions!

    Can a pico lazer be used for dull skin and fine lines and just generally wanting anti-ageing treatment?

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 4 месяца назад

      Hello @dachater1, thank you for your comment. Yes, Pico Lasers can be used for addressing dull skin, fine lines, and general anti-aging concerns. The laser works by delivering short pulses of energy to stimulate collagen production and resurface the skin, improving texture and brightness. However, it's always best to consult with a dermatologist to ensure it's the right treatment for your specific skin type and goals. If you've got a skin concern that Dr Yong can help you with, do drop us a message at our Facebook page at facebook.com/angelineyongdermatology.

      Hello @venosheniravichandran3352, thank you for your question! For Fitzpatrick 4 skin, it is rather common for acne marks to darken temporarily after Pico Laser due to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This usually improves with time. Make sure to protect your skin from the sun and use gentle brightening products to help with the recovery process. However, if you feel concerned, it's best to consult your dermatologist to seek professional advice in relation to your skin condition. Hello! It’s common for pigmentation to temporarily darken after pico laser, especially with Fitzpatrick skin type 4. This is typically post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and should fade over time. You can usually have your next session 4-6 weeks after the first, but I recommend checking in with your dermatologist before continuing. They may adjust your treatment plan based on your skin’s response. Also, using sunscreen daily can help prevent further darkening.

    I’m wondering what your experience with ultherapy has been with your patient population? I’ve read many anecdotal information from people and how it caused a complete fat loss of their face months after treatment. To me, it seems like an energy device that should not be utilised for the face, similar to radio frequency energy devices incorporating micro needling which also causes permanent damage to fat cells. However, I’ve read studies that IPL in the range of 500-560nm stimulates collagen production. In your expertise, which energy wavelengths and fluences have you found stimulate collagen production without damage to fat cells for energy devices such as pico and IPL?

    • @AngelineYongDermatology
      @AngelineYongDermatology 3 месяца назад

      Personally, my take on it is that the effectiveness of energy-based devices depends on selecting the right treatment for the patient, understanding skin and fat thickness, and using the correct transducer depth and shot count. When performed by a well-trained professional, risks are minimised. However, improper use by less trained practitioners, such as applying the wrong energy levels or depths, can lead to issues. Devices targeting superficial layers tend to have lower risk of affecting facial fat deposits. Hope this clarifies!

      Hi there! Male and female pattern hair loss share similarities, but female hair loss is often more complex. Thyroid imbalances can lead to increased hair shedding (telogen effluvium) and may even be linked to autoimmune conditions like alopecia areata. Hormonal imbalances, diet, and systemic disorders can also play a role. Do consult your dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment options.

    This is quite fascinating. Dr. Yong, do you find polynucleotides more effective than dermal fillers with poly-l-lactic acid such as sculptura? I’m curious what your thoughts are and what you’ve experienced in your patient population. IMO I think skin boosters like HA often make people look puffy and pillowy, which actually makes them look older and not a desirable look. However, I have seen higher molecular weight HA (profhilo) utilised on women’s underarms with crepey skin to completely eradicate the crepey skin to make it look firm and toned. I’m curious about which procedures you have done on yourself (if any) and where you tend to inject polynucleotides on your patients? I do know that in South Korea, rejuran (salmon sperm- a type of polynucleotide) is injected during micro needling sessions. However, I do not think I personally want salmon sperm injected into my skin. BTW I love how you explain everything quite thoroughly and try to educate your patients, I always think that is the sign of an excellent doctor. 😊

      Thank you for your comment, @PtolemyXVII! The choice of injectables varies based on individual skin conditions and goals. Polynucleotides (like Rejuran) improve skin texture, while bio-stimulators (like Sculptra or Radiesse) focus on collagen production and volume loss. Profhilo is useful for areas with crepey skin but doesn’t address skin laxity as effectively. Hyaluronic acid boosters, when applied correctly, can enhance hydration without looking overfilled. It's always best to consult a skilled practitioner for personalised advice. Hope this helps!

    This was an incredible video. If you only had 1 pico laser (pico way or picosure) which would you choose? When does one tend to benefit over the other?

      Hello @rachaelmufale5903, thank you for your kind feedback! Both PicoWay and PicoSure are excellent devices, but they have some differences. PicoWay is often preferred for treating pigmentation issues like melasma and darker skin types due to its shorter pulse duration, which reduces heat-related side effects. PicoSure, on the other hand, is highly effective for tattoo removal and overall skin rejuvenation. When deciding which to select for patient care, the specific skin concerns and goals of the patient is top consideration. Do consult with a dermatologist can help determine which device would be best for you.

    This is very good information. A doctor has never given me this much information during consultations. I don’t think they think you’ll understand or that you need to know.
