The ak47 shoots a 7.62x39 bullet that is wider and shorter than the 5.56x45 bullet, meaning it has less velocity, and is weaker at any range longer than 15 yards. It is also terrible against heavy plate armor. It’s also less reliable than the ar15 in almost very way, except abusability. (The ak47 is very abusable) The Russian army recently switched to the ak74, which shoots 5.56x39. Which is a much faster round, and is therefore better at almost every range, and against armor. Also, assault rifle is not the correct term, the correct term would be carbine. Also, the gun everyone refers to isn’t even an ak47, it’s an akm. The ak47 was withdrawn from service a long time ago. Also the ak47 jams in mud quite a lot.

There is no such thing as an "assault rifle" the AK is a sub-machine gun. A very useful sub-machine gun.
