Dylan Smith Self-Filmed Hunting
США
Добавлен 26 сен 2007
I was hesitant to start this channel due to the fact that I have always filmed for my own reasons and will continue to do so in the future. Many people will return to the pickup if they forgot an important item such as a release but I have done just that when I forgot my camera or a particular mount for the camera. There is no better feeling than getting to re-live the moments with family and friends.I don't let the camera cost me animals and some would say it's not ethical to distract your attention from the shot, but it truly calms me down.I have been told many times that a certain experience was a "once in a lifetime" experience only to find another such experience not long after.I would love to help others understand that you don't have to film for a TV show to enjoy capturing these special moments.I enjoy watching others' footage and I finally felt that others should have access to it as well. This is definitely not professional material by any stretch. I hope you enjoy it! God bless!
Habitat/Land Management Videos Transition
This is a short link to where I will be putting habitat related videos. I realize these aren't the most exciting and can make the other videos harder to find, so I am making the move to place all land management videos on my @DylanWhitetailPartners channel. If you are interested, please subscribe and share with friends who may be looking for some help. The biggest thing I have learned is to just try things out and we all learn from mistakes. I can help reduce the intimidation that many place on the many projects you can take on. www.youtube.com/@UCRKZK3BiXiCz6uULj9-36tA

Father's Day Kayak Fishing 2024
Просмотров 804 месяца назад
This is one of my favorite annual excursions. Lane and I try to do this a few times each year and it brings back a ton of memories with my dad and other extended family who also live for the outdoors. Seeing the same look on my kids' faces as I'm sure I had, just makes it special. I'm not a huge fisherman, but I love all of God's creation and cherish every moment we have in the outdoors. If I h...
May 19th, Late Season Show!
Просмотров 645 месяцев назад
This tom did everything he needed to do, except make the one mistake I was praying for. When bowhunting without a blind and filming, you have to have a few breaks. This wise old gobbler did not make the fatal mistake I needed, which is to turn away while in full strut. When his wing feather flips, you know they are leaving and he did just that prior to my attempt to draw on him. The season isn'...

Here's a short hunt from May 12, 2024. We didn't get a lot of footage, but it was a beautiful morning where it just felt right. The birds did not disappoint and were out in force.
2005 Buck Attack Short
Просмотров 726 месяцев назад
This is a little flashback to the most intense and up-close encounter of my life. This buck hammered my mock scrapes just prior to the shot, but I wasn't too far into self video and didn't take the risk. What followed was even more wild. Most people would have never believed it had I not filmed it. For the full video, follow the link at the end.
Trail Camera Photos (Late Add-In) of The General Nov. 9

This is a late add-in to include trail camera photos I just pulled from a camera not far from where I was lucky enough to finish the story of "The General". I'm attempting to add them in as a link within that video. Music credit to Nashville songwriter, Dan Heim.

This is an attempt to tell the story of a buck that occupied my mind over the past two seasons. He did not make many mistakes and was random in his movements making it difficult to pinpoint his core. After making a monumental mistake, I was ready to go all in on him in 2023. It all came together this November and I'm hopeful this will somewhat tell the story. Pronghorn 2023
Просмотров 146Год назад
This is a compilation of a last minute quick hunt for pronghorn in western Kansas. I truly believe this is the toughest hunt out there, but for some reason it continues to draw me back. I have a bit of a bruised ego and maybe a few stickers remain, but overall, you can't beat the beauty of God's creation. It's an extreme challenge to self-film an antelope hunt and if you watch this, you will ag...
2023 Spring Turkey & Habitat

This was a bit of a unique start to the spring. I typically spend a lot of time shooting the bow and focusing on the actual turkey hunt. The more I've gotten into habitat work, the more I see the results.
Final Hunts of 2022. Shed buck?!!

This is a short clip of my last few outings here in late December. I was limited on sits, but that happens when you hit it hard the rest of the season. I cannot thank my wife and kids enough for putting up with me and they were troopers allowing me to hunt a lot this season. I look back and it was a great season, but just didn't all come together with the target bucks. I have kept some footage ...

This was a quick compilation of some of the highlights, and low-lights of the 2022 archery deer season. I took a break through rifle season and that is where this ends, but with a little bit of luck, I will do my best to put together part two and the late season.
2022 Spring Turkey Marathon

This was one struggle of a season. I cannot recall another season with so few aggressive toms. I'm not sure if it is the age structure or just extra pressure, but they don't seem to commit like they used to. It made for a fun and more than full season. This is a bit long because I wanted to share the beautiful encounters and all of the struggles a season can throw at you. Many times we share th...

This is the story of my 2021 deer season. After a devastating loss of video due to an external hard drive drop, I attempt to put the pieces of this story together. Luckily I had some history with this buck and this rollercoaster season was a fun chess match all the way to the end. Music by: Dan Heim ruclips.net/channel/UC21iUJwbGEkc8L_EQF-RfPg dan.heim.71

Good News! You Thanked the Lord for that Blessing it was not luck !
This was a fantastic watch. And one he'll of a buck to match. Well done. Liked. Liked.
@@TheWaterHopper thank you!
What State?
@@stevedenoyer5956 Hi, Steve, Kansas.
He sure read the script on that one, nice shot, great deer. Congrats
" We don't wanna clean fish, yet." 😂 Brings back memories of river rattin' and bank lining in my youth!
You bet, Jake. That’s what I want my kids to remember for sure. It sure seems like more work in my older age. 😂
Thanks for sharing your passion.
Thank you! Wish I was headed west again this fall, but been a tough draw this year.
Great Job Boys! That was an awesome hunt, one you will never forget! Great Video!
Thanks guys! Ready to make some more memories when you are ready to get out. Been too long and late season is a fun time to slip around on them.
Congratulations on the bird. Really nice hunt and good job on the video.
Thank you!
Ohio's birds are pretty much non-existent. Our flock numbers have been going down for quite a few years now. I took off to Kentucky for a 5 day Turkey hunt this year. Should be out real soon.
@@realdealadventures. Man, I hate to hear that. Ours dropped to dismal numbers right when everyone else’s declined, but have bounced back in recent years. There are still areas they are down, but it’s been good to see the recovery. Good luck in Kentucky!
That's one dandy buck, congrats.
Thanks, Kelly!
Great deer & video! Thanks for sharing Dylan!
Thank you, Brian! Best of luck to you!
Great hunt and video. You did well. Not the screaming lots of these type vids end up doing.
Thank you, Dave!
Good buck brother
Thanks, Brandon!
Congratulations! What did he end up scoring? He is a beast
Thank you! He was rough scored at 196 7/8.

Are you sponsored by Prime? I have the same bow.
Hi Mike, I’m not sponsored by them, but I am great friends with them and they have supported my efforts over the years. Great products all around.
Beautiful buck man congratulations that’s awesome!!!
Thank you, Joaquin!
Great hunt and fantastic buck! That's one all of us dream about!
Beautiful shot too congratulations!
Thank you!
How many points I couldn't count all of them?
Hi Roger, I believe he has 17 scorable points.
That’s amazing. Looks almost identical to the 14 point I took this year at our home in Michigan bow season! My best deer ever! Congratulations
Thanks, Steve! Congratulations on your success as well! Thanks for reaching out.
Great video man! Congrats on the buck!
Thanks, Shawn!
Awesome buck! Are you affiliated with MWS?
Thanks Tim! I am not affiliated with them but have met a few of them over the years at past ATA shows.
@@ksdoubledrop I gotcha. I used to rep for them and saw you were decked out in the companies they cover. That’s why i asked! Again awesome buck and great video! Congrats!
@@tim03b_48 , ha! I hear ya there. Just a coincidence I guess. Went 15+ years with my old camp mixture of whatever and finally started to get some better gear. Lol! Thanks again!
I like that you focused the camera back out to the true distance and didn’t keep it close up. Its ok to have a close up too and it’s real good to go back and watch footage when you have a bad shot but it looks more real when you do the shot at real distance on the camera than close up. And it’s more cool to me.
Thanks, David! I couldn’t agree more on remembering the hunt for how it was. If I’m being honest though, I did it a bit accidentally on this one as I abandoned the main camera due to bad setup and funky tree I had the art attached to. Either way, it worked out and I do my best to not allow the camera to cost me a deer. Thanks again! Good luck to you.
Congratulations Man Nice Buck 😎👍💯🇺🇲
Thank you!
What state did you shoot your trophy?
Hi Gary, I’m from Kansas. Have not ventured out too much yet, but hope to in the future.
wow, Dylan, what an absolutely beautiful Whitetail,in my eyes you couldn't have killed a stronger, dominant Buck them him, he perfect, funny some hunters say the rack doesn't matter, idk man, screw that when a Deer like that living on your property , he's got everything a Whitetail hunter would want! and you stated how much effort and time this sport takes from us, but to me the setup and caring for the land and the habitat is my favorite part, letting them walk until they reach there potential is very difficult, especially when the Whitetail could be 3 miles from home range ,and someone esle could take the target buck you've been letting walk bye for the last how many years, many sleepless nights, but the truth is, either its going to happen or it's not, and has nothing to do with how much time and effort we put in! The big man, will decide when , where ,and which Whitetail you'll harvest, and that's a fact! congratulations, outstanding content, and just a beautiful mature Buck! no doubt the General lol ! Thanks,
Murph, thanks so much for watching and for the kind words. It is a fun process and I'm very fortunate to have access to places that allow me to do that. Thanks again and good luck to you!
Great Deer congrats!
Thanks, George!
I thought this was about hunting, not preparation, not when you took a shit, these videos suck because of the camera hogs!
Hey Dylan, I was wondering what happened to you the last time I saw your videos and talked to you was a few years ago when you shot a monster buck on the ground I can't remember the exact date or year cause it's been that long, but I have wondered what happened to you and your videos. But I see you are still at it. Nice Buck!!
Hi Randy, good to hear from you again. Yeah, I don't put out the volume and used to do a lot of smaller videos on habitat but decided to stick to the main hunts. I definitely do not cave to the thought of shooting a buck every year just for the video and know that's not what drives me. I will try to compile at least some highlights each season, but a few years back I decided to set some higher goals and allow some bucks to go even further. It's fun to see them or at least give them a chance and if someone else is lucky enough and makes them ecstatic, I'm all for it if they go down to someone else. I appreciate the kind words.
I understand my friend at least you get a chance to see them grow but if someone else gets to take them more power to them. But you stick with what you love and do and good hunting to you always my friend God Bless You and your family and God Bless your hunting. I hope to see you in the next video my friend!!
@@randyfarley5176 , God Bless you and your family. Happy hunting in 2024!
Congrats on a great Buck!
Thank you, Moe!
Man that is a 100 percent hard work success and congratulations! Love watching a story when someone works really hard and is patient and finally reaps the reward from mother nature! Congrats man you earned it!
Thanks, Kapper! I appreciate the kind words. Best of luck to you!
wow what beautiful buck! congrats!

Cool as a cucumber, nerves of steel and the perfect shot. Are you AI? Awesome video, Dylan!
Thank you! Not sure how cool I was in the moment. Appreciate the kind words. Best of luck to you!
Congrats Dylan! I was in Kansas in a tree when I saw that you got him! One can see that you put in the time and efforts to make something like this happen and I'm proud to see that work out for people. What an awesome buck. I managed to put my tag on good Kansas buck, my personal best, this season. I'll email you about it soon.
Thanks David! Congratulations to you! I can’t wait to hear the story. Thanks for the kind words.
What a stud of a deer. All day sits are painful but you’re 100% correct. They pay off. Congratulations.
Thanks, Sir William! Best of luck to you!
Congrats on the General man! Awesome deer!

Great job and great watching you get everything done. You Definitely should be proud of that Monster 😊😊😊
try 3 1/2 year old
Thanks Jim. Yeah, I probably should have left the age out of it. The trail cam history isn’t strong enough for some. Everyone has an opinion and I guess mine is a bit stronger on the deer I know a bit closer. Thanks for watching and good luck to you!
@@ksdoubledrop gotta let them walk to get some age. Could've been a real nice one. YW!
