ill hope u make it, been living and working in Krung thep(Bangkok) now for +15 year just a regular Swedish guy going to office and live my life in the massive 15 million mega city 5 times bigger than Newyork. I do speak pretty good Thai nowadays i and made a lot of Thai friends and live a pretty normal quiet happy life here=) Thailand is a weird wonderful crazy loving caring country...full of good people and adventure. . Study Thai hard now (i really know the struggle..)and try to adapt yourself to the culture and u will succeed in your adventure and new life. ps A very good way and shortcut to learn Thai and the culture and way of thinking s watching Thai movies and tv series with English subtitles I love the hilarious Thai comic horror movies and Thailand has a BIG movie and tv industry with new big movies coming out every week s ds

Prepared to be humbled by the language learning. They have multiple words that spell and sound the same but means 5 different things, depending on how high, low or long you pronunciation, the word "mai" is one funny one. I would avoid pattaya or bangkok. Great cities but not great cities to start life over. Welcome :)
Yep that one I agree, I am still working on this language thing, seems to be a bit tricky than i thought. I stay up in the north, and most people seem to not be very much interested in the big cities like Chiang Mai or Bangkok, etc, I think i get the gist. they are very touristy. Let's see what will finally pick my interest. Thanks for watching
@@Leeedavan Bangkok, pattaya, phuket, samui and even chiang mai/rai is sorta tourist with the latter two being less. Im also new to thailand, been here for couple months now and I love it. Changed my life. Prepare for some slight racism OUTSIDE the big tourist areas, that is SUPER easily countered by simply learning some basic opening phrases, if you do that? You will have a night an day experience. And just follow the humble traditions. Always bow to elders. Always be calm, never shout or yell, never get personal even in upset situations. Thai people overall handle conflict and critique very very badly. And prepare for a bit laid back "tomorrow tomorrow" attitude and approach while mixing that with "now now" approach together with "anything is possible". Its a wonderful, complicated, delicate mix of common sense and strict unwritten rules you cannot cross as "falang", their word for foreigner.

Don't know how many times i order "knee ...mountain" instead of "white.... rice" all 4 words are the same word different tone and pronunciation .. its all about the tone..555 Most Thai will correct you with a smile and LOVE that u really try to speak Thai and will respect you and ty to teach you ..
