A little bit of found footage from the Mason Jar archives! Christian Death (ft. Rozz Williams) performed this set 32 years ago to the day, supported by bands Victory Acres and Boot Beast. The majority of the setlist was hits from their 1982 album "Only Theatre of Pain," considered to be one of the driving forces behind deathrock and a huge influence on the American goth scene.

The majority of the setlist was hits from their 1982 album "Only Theatre of Pain," considered to be one of the driving forces behind deathrock and a huge influence on the American goth scene.

In 1990, grunge legends Nirvana toured the West coast in support of their debut album Bleach. The band performed at The Mason Jar on February 19th, 1990, playing mostly songs from Bleach, but also sharing new material from their second, breakthrough album Nevermind. This video of “About A Girl” was filmed at that show on February 19th, 1990 in Phoenix.

TOOL formed 30 years ago this year, in 1990. About a year before they released their first studio album Undertow in 1993, TOOL played their first Phoenix live show at The Mason Jar. This is a recording of the song "Sober" from that set.
