Welcome back to the channel! We haven't posted anything in a long time! During the first week or so of our trip, one of my external hard drives decided it was time to kick the bucket, meaning I had to send it away to a data recovery specialist to get the data back. It was costly and took many months for me to get anything back. It was a messy recovery and it took me a long time to figure out wh...

HARD YAKKA goes DEEP DROPPING off Brisbane | Bar cod, kingfish, shark, pearly, snapper... glass out!
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.3 года назад
In this video, we head offshore from Brisbane and do some deep dropping using the lone star marine deep drop winch and the Daiwa Seaborg megatwin 1200MJ electric reel. It happened to be Caylah's first time ever deep dropping. We left the kids at home with the grandparents and headed off with Jack (our next door neighbour) for an epic day of fishing. We reel in a heap of pearl perch, some snappe...

I apologise if this video is as boring as watching paint dry 😂... I have been completely M.I.A for the past month trying to catch up on life whilst also trying to sift through the footage I got on this particular trip. It was filmed on a Tuesday back in July and I basically just left the camera running for most of the trip... meaning I had a lot of hours to skim through haha. Oops. This trip we...
OUR FIRST TIME CUTTLE FISHING | Moreton bay
Просмотров 3953 года назад
Just an afternoon out on the bay trying our hand at cuttle fishing for the first time. We learn their mannerisms and things get a little messy. I'll be doing up a more detailed video on cuttle fishing in the near future. We've done more trips since we filmed this, and have cleaned up on them over time. It's a good little hobby once you get the knack. Like and subscribe if you enjoy these videos.

DEEP DROPPING off Brisbane | Bar cod rundown
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.3 года назад
In this video, Brent and Dan head out off Brisbane to do some deep dropping. They drag in a few fish from the deep and then we give you the run down on filleting bar cod the best way. Unfortunately the boys missed some footage and some of it was in time lapse so I didn't have a whole lot to work with. If you want any more info on where we got some of the deep drop setup, hit us up in the commen...

Awesome vid guys, liked and subscribed 👍
you use salt ice, not freshwater ice for saltwater fish...
hope ya put that tiny kingfish back
Looks beautiful 🥰
You camped at the Hilton it’s amazing place been there the last 25 years it’s probably one of the better spots to camp plus you get good squid off the rocks at night
Lol I just realised I accidentally put wathumba creek where it should have said ocean lake 😂
Hey mate nice work, any chance on a review on the lsm dd 250? This is the only video I've found of one and I'm considering purchasing one
If only the right tyre pressure was set up first none of this testosterone driven madness would occur.
Great video caylah It is the best place to go 😎
Guys I just came across this page. So cool! Will be watching a lot more of your vids ✌️
hey guys yep id be interested in some rigs , im in brissy , whats the best way to contact you please , cheers dave
Hey David, flick us an email at islandtime38@hotmail.com and we can send you some deets. Cheers, Caylah.
I missed it, Where do yo launch from ??
Usually Wellington Point
Travcalm originals!! For those who leave a bit of meat on the frames ....grab a table spoon and scrap the frame either side get all the left over meat and use it to make fish cakes Great video guys always good viewing
Ginger beer is the best.
I'll have to give that a try!
Loving the videos!
Another great episode. Awesome family memories for you guys. I can’t believe how many clowns hit that Ngala rocks track at full noise. 15psi and you can crawl up there.
Exactly right hahaha. Amazes me the amount of people who still haven't learnt/heard that it's all about tyre pressure.
Lovely vid guys well done, love fraser but bit dear for me now
It's definitely not a cheap trip! We bought a place up there early this year and were paying full-price for the barge (towing a trailer) until we got a resident's card. Out of about 5 trips since we bought , we were paying full price (+trailer) for 4 of those trips 😬... it all adds up! I'm heading up tomorrow and having a resident's card still doesn't make it all that much cheaper! I'm just enjoying being able to get up there as much as possible before we start renting it out.
@@caylahruth Awesome place, but just so dear and hard on gear, I looked at buying the last block up near the Mackerel boys there few years ago, was 340k i think, Could bought the block but it was just the price of getting and back every time put us off, Oh well great place. great vids
Nice video. Love the deep drop stuff too. That red one was a Ruby Snapper 😉
And would you believe it, I said to Brent "that looks like a Ruby" when he brought it in. He was like "nah it's a Rosy" 😂🤦♀️ should've gone with what I thought hahaha
Great video guys and some ripper driving towing a big boat up there. Well done! Since Manta Ray convinced everyone they should have a monopoly on the Inskip barge, it’s just caused price rises and longer wait times.
Thanks mate, as they say prior planning prevents piss poor performance 😂 a lot of planning goes into bringing a boat up.
Nice work guys. What’s your thoughts on the Seaborg reel?
Can't fault it for what we're doing but I suppose it depends what you're using it for.
Awesome video guys, thanks. What beach did u camp at and is it something I would be able to access in a tinnie from where u all launched your boats from? Cheers.
Yeah absolutely, I can't remember where exactly we set up camp but it was near the hiking track. Could definitely get a tinny there.
Oi mate that bridge you drive a cross In the start of the vid there is barra there
Haha the bickering is fun. Thanks for sharing
Just wondering if the shark was noticed..?
At what point? The only thing I can see out of the ordinary is squid ink. Haha.
Hey mate can I ask what rod and reel setup also what lb line?
Hey mate, it was a z man plastic on 20lb braid. Will have to try remember which rod and reel I was using, can't remember at the moment.
Well done catching the Barra.. we got back today from 3 days chasing the barra at Mondy.. No luck at all but was a great three days on the water. We're heading back in October to try again
Thanks guys great video.
Is the boat ramp accessible any tide or is there a preferable time and height to travel the creek.
Yeah preferable at a higher tide, not sure of exact heights but it would probably be too shallow on a low.
The secret is to take your first quell the night before when you go to bed, then take another 1 hr before you get to boat ramp, then have another later in the day if necessary.
I enjoyed your two parts videos thoroughly, you just gained a new sub. 1 question if you care to share, where is that “boat ramp” at? Or which road is it off by? Is it safe to leave you cars there? Thanks
Thanks, it's basically a telegraph track off Turkey beach road, the tides need to be taken into consideration when you're leaving the car there for an extended period, we parked our cars further up the hill (a bit of a hike to the ramp) so they were safe, we also locked up our winches and other things, etc. So they didn't get stolen.
Best sunsets, something to just go there for . Enjoyed watching your adventures
Just watched both episodes...top job on them🙌 pancake is such a beautiful spot too! Good on ya's putting the effort in taking all the little one's, memories they'll have for life! Cheers 🍻
Pull the glow pluggs crank to flush cylinders put the glow plugs back and go home...
Congratulations mate nice Barra…. You probably didn’t realise it but just before u hooked up u got another hit…. You can see the tick in your line
Im local to around monduran. I've fish there for 4 days and caught no barra but got 3 bass between 48 and 51cm. It's a hard dam to fish. Last time I went a few weeks ago
I like the music you've used :)
Why fish the 140m area during the closure? Of course all you would get is Pearlies!
BOGANS SHOULD'NT BREED !!!

@@caylahruth hey mate sorry, I really hope you guys respect all cultures. I have a problem with white people only because of the way i was treated in my first few years in Aus. Take care mate and pls respect all cultures mate :)
@@matteobombonato5840 I respect any decent person regardless of their heritage. Colour shouldn't have anything to do with it. There are good and bad people within every race and just because you met a few bad ones, it doesn't mean they're all bad. Peace, mate.
@@caylahruth thank you, i am now your subscriber :)
people like you shouldn't have kids
deep 280-300M?
Yeah around that range 👍
Hey guys love the videos...have a question because I'm confused...when you head offshore do you go green to green nav lights...and coming back inland is it green to red?
Port to Port heading into Port. So if you're heading back in, you'll be going red to red. On the way out it's the other way around. So heading out you'll be green to red. Hope that makes sense.
When travelling upstream or away from the sea: keep port (red) marks on your port-hand side (left) keep starboard (green) marks on your starboard-hand side (right). When travelling downstream or towards the sea: keep port (red) marks on your starboard-hand side (right) keep starboard (green) marks on your port-hand side (left). Just copied this for reference
Yeah I have looked and so many pictures and sites say all opposite to each other...thanks for the help man makes sense now
Awesome stuff guys
I just stumbled on your channel and loving it. Keep it up one day you will have million followers like myself 👍✌️
I always have issues with kwells
Good to know I'm not the only one!
@@caylahruth I made the mistake of taking 2 driving to the ramp and got very blurry vision
Why rename? If any of the "original owners" are "Fair Dinkum honest" they should obviously first change and use their own "Black Names" instead of brandishing their "Culturally Expropriated" English names! But nope, instead they rather see everyone else being forced to see a change to their traditional and beautiful sounding name for this great sand island, Fraser Island! Go figure.... Sadly this "renaming" i.e. Orwellian "new-speak" is a shameless lie. Don't be stupid, the "new" sand island name (I will not speak), is a modern political fabrication that has never been known or used. No documentation, no verification or historic facts are provided because there are none. It is another "Black Emu fabrication" made up for populist political P.C. reasons. I speak the truth and I say that like Fraser Island, there are no other true names, only fantasies and modern P.C. fabrications. How could they? We all know that even today many traditionally living "bush babies" do not know their fathers name or have no birth certificates because their bush mothers didn't register the birth. Fraser Island is the only known good name of this great sand island and should remain so in memory of shipwrecked Eliza Anne Fraser who survived brutal enslavement and had her compatriots savagely slaughtered by the Badtjalas who speared her husband in front of her. Let's be honest... Thy name is "Fraser Island" christened in James Fraser's own blood on the sand. Do not forget! ruclips.net/video/Jcyf5k2MJTc/видео.html
Great work guys
Lovely vid and fish
Hey guys, just thought I'd jump on here and mention we're happy to make up and sell some deep drop rigs for anyone who's after that type of thing. Hit us up if you're keen! Cheers, Brent and Caylah.
Great family outing, nice video
Yeah great family outing. SWEARING in front of the kids. also just your bogan attitude makes me SICK
@@matteobombonato5840 I'm working on the swearing. Definitely not my strong point. However, I don't understand what you mean by bogan attitude. In the end, I'm not at all offended, we can't be everyone's cup of tea. Just curious to know how other people's brains work.
@@caylahruth hey mate thats a good response. makes me think i was wrong with my comment. As long as you guys respect all other cultures im happy mate. And i hope you do :)
Awesome video! We just released a deep dropping episode over at TASCAST. Looks like the fishings better up there RN!
Where abouts in tassy are you based? Brent's got family down there. We went to cockle Creek for a couple weeks back in April 2018 and the boys did a heap of fishing and diving down there. Keen to head back down there to catch up with family and do some more fishing when we can. Brent's cousins are pro crayfishing guys.
