I guess it was a ship of its time. The original Connie didn't have aft firing torpedo tubes. Also the cricket plasma weapon and cloaking ability meant that If the ship had to protect the aft, the crew can simply cloak the ship.

@@martinjaser2725 exactly what I was saying. Older ships with new tech makes a nice punchy surprise. Ambassadors have grown on me recently, since I got a 3d printer and I printed myself up a bunch of ships, mostly all the Enterprises, so nice choice.

From similar vessels I've seen in Bridge Commander, I'd say in the aft fantail of the secondary hull. Not directly under the shuttle bay, but a few meters down along the curve.

I believe I set those to fire from the flats of the fantail on the outside. the ship was never designed with any aft weaponry to begin with. stock connies are shown having their foreward tubes in the ring surrounding the lower sensor dome, and I think the Phasers are in there, too.

@@TrekBattles a lotta help went into getting her finished, especially after 10 years in WIP form due to an overzealous spyware prog. there's a TE version that goes with, btw. and now, everybody and their brother that's seen this wants me to do an "A"...me included! kudos to yourself for THAT. meanwhile I've had several other sketch level ships in mind, including one I created back in high school that has VERY interesting lore behind it...and is a 9/11 tribute set and a nod to three relatively recent independent countries (it IS an independence class)

If you can't find your copy, you can download it from GOG.com it's only a few dollars. Yes there are several expansion packs that have given the game a new life. The most popular are Kobayashi Maru and Remastered. I'm using Remastered Orion which was released a couple of months ago. You can get the expansion packs from Gamefront.com. There are literally 1000's of mods so a lot of fun to be had.

Thank you. The ship is a little tricky to handle but it is really fun. When you time it right and rotate 360 through all the firing arcs, I can see how it would have been used in the dominion war because it is deadly.

I think there are interpretations that place it at ~600m long

It's deceptive, the Steamrunner is a tough power house and can take a beating beyond what us expected, it was able to collapse the shields in one particular vector but didn't have the power to sustain that attack. As a result when it's defence falls off a cliff coupled with the borg repair rate. It really didn't stand a chance beyond putting up a good fight.
