CAGED System, why you should learn your root strings
Interesting example of US guitar history.
Yes it is!
Ya didn't let us hear the guitar
I since sold it, so didn't think ahead.
is it solid top?
look at video around 4 minute mark, on the top , beside neck, wood has wore through the fist layer and you can see that the wood grain running 90 degrees to the rest of the top grain, so would tell me its a layer top
@macses Nice, I actually found this guitar in marketplace for only $70 In mint condition
@@marshall8756 nice find!
What's the wood use? back, sides, top and neck
thanks more of this please :)
Good job keeping awake long enuf to watch, haha not the most riveting music theory subject
This is bullshit.
I had a brain fart one time 😮
You lost me
What he's trying to say . A. A chord is basically three (or more notes ) played at same time. B. These notes can be found all over the fretboard in clusters across the strings . C. If you play a chord like C major the notes are C E G . D. Draw a map of the fretboard and draw where those notes are . E. Play some of the shapes you find .these will all be C major chord. F. You will recognise the C chord near the nut of the guitar ( it's the most known C chord shape) G. If you progress up the guitar to find the C chords you will see the C chord takes the shapes of all the other open chords( C,A,G,E,D) you learn when you play the guitar . Find the C A G E D SHAPES Now that you see C chord everywhere along the guitar fretboard and you realise they look like the open chords first taught you realise you can play every chord anywhere on the fretboard location instead of having to only play the open chords . This is useful because A. It makes playing easier and less jumpy B. Offers different timbers of sound for the same chord C. Makes it easier to play melody and base styles of music as less difficult on fingers .
Because a chord is defined at a minimum of being three notes from its own scale you only really need three strings to define or imply that chord in music. You will see many higher level players just playing three strings or so as this allows for more space in the band . Less clutter . You can always add more notes if you want a fuller sound .
Persevere, rewind, replay. Write it down if you are a visual learner for this is the basis of so much intermediate guitar playing. Also, look for videos on triads (3 note chords). It'll open up your fingerboard 👍
Is it laminated?
I no longer own, seems I asked that same question and I think it was.
I never knew Pete Townshend was doing guitar tutorials! Great job.
haha good one man thanks
Nice job, easy to follow. Thanks Steve
Thanks Jimmy, appreciate your comments
Nice video, thanks! Short and to the point, which really helps demystify technology that can be challenging.
Has a Gibson/inspired Custom Shop Epiphone ES 355 vibe... I own a Black Satin Vela. Love it. The neck could be a little thinner, but that's cause I broke my left hand and thumb 3 times and it's an issue for me.
Thank you, that 'quick' press of the Parameter is all I needed to find these effects. My longer press was bringing up model volume... I was getting that <Mood Killer 2.0> feeling trying to figure it out.
It can be confusing figuring out this stuff sometime, glad the video could help.
Thank you very much. I bought the new white anniversary pedal, but beyond the “Alt”, I couldn’t figure out how to get to the additional effects. Your video did the trick! Very fun
Great! glad I could help.
Great video, I’m loving the new effects. Quick question, have you noticed if they changed the tuner? When I go into mine, the LED’s don’t light up like they used to, except one on the end just flashes. I think it’s maybe a multi function mode now or something with tap tempo but I can’t seem to confirm.
Yes, I dont see the lights anymore, just the LED readout.

Mine was made in 92, lovely guitar - I did replace the machine heads though a couple of years ago with PING ones, as you say it's possible to get low action with ease.
Good to hear your enjoying, decent guitar IMO
My first guitar - around 1964. Wish I still had it!
Made in taiwan?
Upload the full cover man! sounds great
Thank you so much ! more to come
Not a bad guitar...had mine for about a year and really enjoy playing it. 😊
I did add some different P90s, double stacked Wilkinsons, I like. I was playing it tonight and thought to myself, great lil guitar
What kind of strings did use use?
For easy playing Martin silk and steel custom 11.5
Is this hack only compatible with the Apple Keyboard?
Hey thanks for asking, yes indeed I see no reason why not !
What’s the model number on the inside. I found one at the pawn shop and can’t find anything on the internet about them
Sorry, I since sold the guitar, did not keep model info
Thanks Steve - helpful!
Thanks 8140 hope it works for you
Is there any TAB available for your video ?
No I do not have any tab at the moment, but may work on it in the future. Thanks for asking.
Nice clean setup!
thanks, works well!
Very good exercise! I will show it to my students. My touch is very light and I was wondering how to teach that. Thanks!
Hi, thank you for the positive comment, glad it can help!
Really useful thanks again Sir
Love this and your explanation of the major/minor shapes, thank you
Thank you, it's the way I process it my mind, but actually it's a little more complex what is going on there. Since I made the video there is a more correct explanation, but hey this works and gets us to understand it in a way that works for the song.
Great exercise ! I struggle with the right hand too, I tend to hit the strings inconsistently and sometimes too hard. Do you know any exercise to help develop a light touch in the right hand for strumming ?
www.guitarprinciples.com/the-principles-of-correct-practice-for-guitar/. great book, covers a lot on tension, slow- no tempo practice, muscle memory, great for all areas of improvement when comes to playing guitar mechanics, was my bible when learning and still reflect on teachings with every thing I do on guitar.
Just saw your question, light on the strumming hand exercise , might with to a lighter pick on acoustic, the attack will be reduced. Place hand on corner of the bridge on electric on the soft fleshy part of your palm for picking individual notes will help, reducing that typical acoustic strumming motion.
Lol @ barley 🤣
I meant to say E chord, but I said D chord in a few places
I have this guitar with the steel reinforced neck. I like the dark stain
Wow seem to be not many around glad you like it!
Did this come electric from the factory?
NO I added the pickups for the customer, thanks for watching
@@macses how much are super nice pickups for these guitars I just bought a 470s with bird inlays for $400 and it has a nice sounding pickup was wondering if I got s good deal or not
@@LiquidMotionz I say yes its good deal if you like it, I like the LR Braggs Anthem pickups have the in a few differnt guitars and sound great
@@LiquidMotionz i think the Anthem by LR Braggs starts about 200 up to 300 for their top version
I like your song I felt that way today But now I feel better Yesterday So hey❤️👍🏼🎼
It's funny because I have one just like yours and it's also almost 30 years old
Thanks for the video! I just bought the same guitar today. Was your spider cone screwed to the body? Some tutorials pointed out that the spider cone should be free floating for better sound.
If I remember, there was one screw in the middle of the cone.
Thanks for you comment!
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
That's what the room looked like when I tried mushrooms
Explains alot.
How did you get the bulge flat in order to install the cedar reinforcement?
take off strings, place a very sturdy 2x4 or even 4x4 across the top at buldge, clamp to similar board across back, basically squeeze it flat, then glue and clamp the thin support wood inside the bulge area. try to get a peice of wood with good tone, ie padauk etc, and run grain opposite of the tops grain for extra strength.
Looked like rosewood to me, but Im no x-spurt
Great work! Do you know what the fretboard is made of? I just inherited one of these from my uncle and I can’t find any info on it at all.
I don't know for sure, rosewood maybe? I since sold the guitar to an Owner In Pa , who has since passed on, RIP
Great job on the repairs! I have an Aria A660 with the same fret board but a Guild F-30 style body shape, headstock pick guard and bridge. Still very similar. Thanks for sharing your before and after videos.
Thanks, glad I could provide some useful content
I have one just like it awesome guitar!🙏🏻
I need to come down and check that out, ill bring my drone so you can show me how to fly it
