Use to go see him play the Empire Rock Club in Northeast Philly.. pretty decent sound for 1991.. still rocking.. .saw him at Resorts Atlantic City a couple months ago.. this is about as old as you can find of him on RUclips
@@Jiggs2u2 I had just bought one of those VHS camcorders 😂 I wasn’t diligent enough to charge the battery enough or have a spare. I wanted to capture the whole set. Long before cell phone’s.
@@robbi08242 what would those recorders you definitely needed it back up battery.. if you look at Roland 59 or Stewkeybrothers if you we got really good John Eddie from that
Holy Cow! I was beginning to think this band was a figment of my imagination! I have "Dirty Looks" on cassette somewhere.
I remember working a big block party on 2 ad chestnut street during the summer of 81 they had a stage set up for theses guys lol the opening act was the Hooters who would know later the Hooters became bigger when back then they just came out with there first album they were more like a bar band the A’s hit the stage dressed almost like the Romantics in black suit jackets but put on a great show the street was crowded
Terry Borton And Rick DeFonzo playing them Rickenbacker guitars them basses has a great song I use to have 3 of them back in the 80s
I use to cook for theses guys in bridgeburg PA back when they started Richard Bush is still playing in a band today called the peace creeps
Richard Bush is the best frontman to ever come out of Philly. Period.
Everett Bradly !!! Dancin up a storm !! Fun Times
Regardless of quality, it was very funny,😅
Promo*SM 🤔
U know what mon gotta do o what a man’z godda do 🤣
The A’s ROCK‼️🎸
Does anybody know what the name of the first song is and who else did it
"Heart Of America".
I was in front row
I do have it, send me your Email
Rob, Do you have this recording, or is this a re-share? I'd love to here the source of this.
Cool video!
I thought this was done in the highschool but turns out it was the middle school.
The Hooters made it out of Philly and these guys didn't. Why?
Unfortunately, after A Woman's got the Power, Arista dropped them. They did the 4 dances EP, but broke up after that. Would love to see where they could have gone if they stayed together.
These Days were so Epic, Thank You for the Memories !
Thank you, Rob!
I was at that VHS show!
I remember the lineup with you, Don. You had sort of a buddy holly look going on. 👊🏻 Good stuff. Rocko and Richard stand out as among philly’s best songwriters. Two of my faves since late 70s.
Love
Hey Rob, thanks for sharing this. If you have any more from Alan Mann, the A's, Robert Hazzard, John Eddie, Mikey Wild, etc.I would like to see them .
Hi Chis. I have been collecting music & videos from Philly area bands for about 40 years now. Would love to see what you have in your collection. Maybe we could trade some items?
@@serialgrrrl hey serialgrrrl, it's Chris. Unfortunately I don't have my local Philly music collection anymore. Had a flood in basement and lost everything. I'm still sick about it. You tube is wonderful for situations like this. That's why I requested more songs. I had a tremendous collection too. Now just memories and they're mostly good ones. My friend still has both Alan Mann albums. Also the Dobbs album (black & white cover). Nice talking with you.
Songs: 2:07 How do you live (Released on "A Woman's got the power") 5:49 Words (Released on "The A's") 9:30 What goes around (unreleased) 14:57 A Woman's got the power (Released on "A Woman's got the power") 19:33 Give it up (unreleased) 23:20 "Misunderstanding" (unreleased) 26:25 "Secret Agent Man" (Johnny River's cover) What a shame that the A's were dropped by Arista after their 2nd album. They did release the independent "Four Dances" EP in 1982 which was quite good, but but when you see this set, and the 3 unreleased songs, it makes you wonder what might have been.
Yeah, that’s what I like. Film your TV you amateur!!
It was actually your mom's TV
@@robbi08242 my mom died 20 years ago. Sorry, I think you’ve accidentally entered the wrong home. Better get out before the owners come home.
Simply the best!
A great time to live in or around Philly. I drove from Cape May to see the A's. I wish I could get my hands on their CDs.
✌🎃♥️
F*ckin' AAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Wow after all these years of knowing Richard Bush and working with him and the Amazing Rocko in a good band for a brief moment this is my first taste of the”A’s” In their prime Great band!!!
Don, you were awesome when you were with The Candles. The lineup was Rocco & his son Ian on acoustic guitar, Bruce Rogers on Drums & you on lead guitar.
Thanks for posting these A's videos! I always loved them back in the 80's and still do! Great that all their songs can be streamed now. Where did you get all these videos of them??? Thanks again, Rob!!
I recorded them off the TV when they aired in the 80’s. This one was a show on the USA network called USA Hot Spots.
✌🙂❤
Man, this is gold! Thank you for post!
epic ....
❤❤❤
Amazing
Old crusty insignificant shitstain Asshole all he was and still is
Just graduated from the highschool in 2019. Seeing this video is so weird lol
Richards voice is great
What ever happened to Baby Jane?
Richard bush and the A’s Richard is still rocking with the peace creeps today theses boys are from Frank ford area in philly
I was the Club DJ for all the gigs....all involved in these productions were somewhat pioneers in these kind of productions in the early 80,s ..MTV was just getting started and cable TV was in its beginning. A live radio broadcast with video production in a music club with live audience was pushing it at the time...great memories of those days....
Thank you for this. Mr MacDonald at the very end.
Richard Bush was the consummate front man. When he had the candles that band rocked even harder and Rocco wrote some great material
He still is!
