Quilting can meander in and out of our lives. Looking back I realized how long ago it was when I first made a quilt. I never thought of myself as a quilter, but now I do because it’s my way to make art from other peoples’ castoffs. In between were decades when I didn’t sew a single thing. Fiber art is such an accessible craft. If you are ever moved to engage in it again the skills you acquired will be there for you. Otherwise, those skills are transferable in ways we rarely anticipate. Hope you have a wonderful time at your new home and school. ❤

I started this quilt yesterday and you’re absolutely right. The method that the pattern designer tells you to follow (imo) is a bit stupid. Because they NEVER end up being the right size. All my FG blocks I’ve done the traditional way because it frustrated me so much haha

I was in town on the weekend as well!! Not for hockey though lol. Met my son downtown and had a great lunch at a terrific restaurant. I grew up in the city and I always love to go back as often as I can!

You are doing a great job! I’ve been sewing for 40 years and started out just like you, a lot of confusion but pushing through I’ve become very good. Lots of trial and error and seam ripping but practicing on all kinds of sewing makes you better. With RUclips channels you can learn anything g these days. I had to learn by reading books and patterns! Keep it up. Live your videos!
