How to change tyres on a big mining dump truck
Просмотров 9 тыс.4 года назад
This is a vertical tyre strip off a 51 inch wheel assembly on a Komatsu 1500 dump truck. Thought i`d share my daily job with you all, as it`s extremely high in danger if your unsure of what your doing but mostly i just think its so cool what i do and hope you think so too. If you have any Questions or queries about the job just leave a comment and ill be happy to answer them Cheers 🍻
What hand tools are you using to remove the rings?
very good
is this trade hard to learn considering a traineeship in perth
Yeah mate if you dont know what your doing, such an underated job are you looking at working for otraco?
@@zaff5525 thats like anything really tho , but is it hard to pick up or is it a massive learning curve , is it really physical ect just trying to get as much info before i commit , yea mate thinking of doing the traineeship with otraco would you recommend them ? yea you mention underated seems like there is a shortage of people doing it
Yeah like any new job you'll have to learn a new skill set but if your good with tools, worked in construction, driven a forklift or even just mech minded you'd fit right in & once you get the hang of things you'll mos defs enjoy it, its a good job. Otraco is a decent company, they do 6 weeks training in Perth with a dump truck in their yard to give you some exposure before you go on site aswell👍
Thanks for the look into the mining industry tyre changing job. I’m a mechanic,ex tyre fitter, done a little work in Huntly mines in New Zealand when I was in my teens.I’m now looking into working over in Australia mines,so thanks a lot.awesome videos.
You just made me wanna get a traineeship on this. 😅
thx for video
I wish our machine were this clean when we worked on them😂, it’s rarer we work on 100 ton trucks rather than 240 ton truck. We usually work on 50/80R57 michilens where I work. Good video!
Well of course had to have it clean some what for the video hey 🤣 but these are baby trucks compared to the 793s you have or the 930Es with 53/80/R63s which ill be releasing some work on soon so stay tuned. regardless tho of what size theyre all the same arnt they. cheers
Sweet buddy, I do the same thing just on komatsu 830E/830E-5
Awesome! yeah they're all the same hey. The next vid for the 930 with the tooling we use for unbolting outers should be intriguing & or beneficial being similar machines...ill get on to it 👍hopefully site approval isnt too long 😆
@@tyrewhisperers9131 fair enough😂, the mine I work at barely wants pictures taken. Lol
Just started job doing this. Been there 1 week only. At 2:40 in when you tried to pull tyre off with handler and it wasn't free i thought to my self they didn't break the inside bead with breaker.. couple seconds later you pulled out the bead breaker. Awesome this shows that im learning and recognizing issues and solutions .
correct we had to pop the back a little more. appreciate ya 👍
Looks good. Possibly just picked up a job doing this. Find out next week. Dont think the dumpsters are that big though.. 55inch tyres i believe
10 minutes worth of work, I’d believe that. Any one that has ever deflated & inflated a 23.5R25 will know that you are looking at least 10 minutes just for that. The fact that they were joking around while doing it indicates that they were not going for any time trials. It’s a 20-25min job for a good tyre fitter. If you can do it faster or better, post your efforts. While I disagree with rotating the tyre backwards for the last part of the life, operators in slippery conditions will tell you that they hold traction better and as it doesn’t effect tyre life and the OEM tyre manufacturer will tell you it doesn’t matter, then they have not fitted it incorrectly.
Correct my man right on! 💯
You claim that the tyre was changed in 10min. It took me over 10min to watch this and a number of times there were parts fast forwarded. Maybe closer to 20 - 30min and still, the tyre was fitted the wrong way?? Quite painfull to be honest! Tyre Whiperers, more like Tyre Fizzers.
It's a 10min video for convenience with all the bull cut out & its a runout tyre on the drives, even the manufactures will tell ya it doesn't make a difference which way it goes relax mate.😆If you'd like to learn more dont be afraid to ask
Hmm, not a lot of effort putting that lock ring on. But it did look to still be good.
Where are you , i have à similar job in New-Caledonia , i like this job ✌️👌
Down Under 🤙
Very well done! Working with heavy equipment safely and efficiently!
Dizzy video
didnt have the camerman with us so had to put it on my head 😆
this is currently the best video explaining otr wheel replacement on the internet, you should be proud haha.
Cheers ma man and that's exactly why I had to do it there was nothing about this type online anywhere when I started out so hopefully it helps 👌
