    It's Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP). The same thing that large ships use to prevent corrosion. You can find other videos on RUclips on how ICCP works in detail. Essentially, no electrons are given up, so no corrosion.

      @@corro-protecAnd what will corrode then when your rod is of titanium? impressed current cathodic protection = The method of protection connects the metal to be protected to a more easily corroded "sacrificial metal" to act as the anode.

    • @corro-protec
      @corro-protec 4 месяца назад

      @@zamonischeswunderrind1353 this definition is for sacrificial cathodic protection, not impressed current cathodic protection. Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) is a technique used to control the corrosion of a metal surface by making it the cathode of an electrochemical cell. It involves applying a direct current from an external source (an anode) to the metal that needs protection (the cathode). This external current overcomes the corrosive electrochemical processes occurring on the protected metal's surface, effectively stopping corrosion. ICCP is widely used for protecting pipelines, storage tanks, steel pier piles, ships, and offshore oil platforms against corrosion.

    • @corro-protec
      @corro-protec 7 месяцев назад

      Our powered anode rod utilizes impressed current cathodic protection, a technique commonly used to protect metal structures from corrosion. The rod generates a protective electrical current, which is directed to a titanium anode inside the water heater tank. This current prevents the electrochemical reactions that cause rust and corrosion. By doing so, it not only safeguards the tank’s integrity but also prevents conditions that lead to scaling and the sulfur-like smell often associated with bacterial growth. Detailed information about this process is readily available on our website, and the principle of cathodic protection is well-documented online.

    You skipped the hard part! Getting the anode rod loose is why everyone watches these videos! You make it look deceptively easy, when it is a hard job, especially when you are worried about causing damage with an impact wrench from vibration, or from the tank turning while using a breaker bar. Even having a full tank of water will not keep it from twisting and breaking one of the pipes attached to it.🙄

    does it matter where "+" wire is connected on the tank? It should be on oposite site from anode or it can by nearby anode? Has your company performed tests at different locations of wire connection to the tank?

    We replaced our submersible well pump a few months ago and had to sanitize the well in the process. A few weeks ago we started to notice a horrible rotten egg smell and couldn’t pinpoint where it was coming from. This rotten egg smell would hit you in the face as soon as you walked into the house and was embarrassing to say the least! So after some research on Dr RUclips we discovered that our anode rod inside the water heater was the source of the stench! So today I installed your powered anode rod and took the opportunity to drain and flush the water heater at the same time. I’m happy to say that, so far, it seems your powered anode is working as the smell is all but gone! I watched quite a few videos and read online posts that state the smell could take a day or so to be fully removed after installing the powered anode! That’s just fine w me, I’m happy to get back to scentless water and showers!!!!!!!!

      Switch the magnesium to ALUMINUM anode and the smell will disappear. This product is questionable science at best.

      @@thedavesofourlives1 I can tell you we have one of these and the smell went away! We bleached the well and even after a few weeks it still had the sulfur smell and THIS power anode was the only thing I installed afterwards and the smell went away…. So I don’t know if it works for everyone but I can attest it worked for me.
