    I got 3 pairs of Bonts 23/24. Vapor S and Vapor +. I cooked them to perfection and the fit is perfect. However, the left shoe, when I start riding, feels like a screw or something is picking from the inside right at ball of the foot. I inspected the shoes and they are perfect; it is just my foot. After sometime ridding numbness/discomfort start. Any idea what is it? I am avoiding the use of custom insoles. As I mentioned they fit perfect, putting different insoles takes away volume. Any ideas? P.S. I am already using cleats all the way back.

    Nice for the tape manufacturers, as you will get through your bar tape faster due to hands rubbing against the grain, so to speak.

    This annoying thing could be solved without the need of using bar tape. Wider anti slip handlebar tubes (sand coated alike) which could conceal (by a cover) the shifter metal clamp.

    it would be really hard to get the tape in clean around the plug. so you might not have electrical tape up top but your trading that for bar tape that is wrapped the wrong way on the drops and ugly plug area. you can try to glue the end of the tape together to be able to work with it easier and get a cleaner look around the plug. tip for conventional wrap on getting a clean look around the plug, is start it normally but only wrap a couple times from the plug end, secure the plug in and you will usually notice that ugly seam on the tape thats at the plug, you can unwrap to that part and pull it out, then continue to wrap. most ppl do the entire wrap and plug it last, but oh shit your tape at the plug is busted and youre not going to re wrap the entire thing are you?

    Nice video 👍. I’ve always wrapped mine this way since the 80’s including when I was club racing. I found that it is less likely for the tape to move and separate through heavy use. People saying you catch the edge when sliding on and off the hoods - I’ve never found this to be an issue, but then again I only ride on the hoods for hills. I have had arguments with people though trying to tell me this way is ‘wrong’ 😂. I also tried wrapping the top half this way down to the brake levers, and the bottom half the conventional way also terminating at the levers, securing the ends around the levers with electrical tape which gets hidden by the hoods.

    Hi, I did it the other way around: I did wear to large shoes for years... (not only on the bike...) That's not good as well. The toe box of the Bont shoes look nice. They seem to have space for the big toe. I think I'll give them a try.

  • @vulcanprincess1584
    @vulcanprincess1584 9 месяцев назад

    ooh also it would be crazy if fans were powerful enough to simulate wind resistance--wait i dont think that would make sense with rollers--but fans that simulate wind instead of a set setting would be a nice augmented reality feature

  • @vulcanprincess1584
    @vulcanprincess1584 9 месяцев назад

    if they added a magnetic resistance like some home modders have done with rollers and remote control, and the required sensors, i feel rollers could be used better on zwift than even stationary setups oh wow if i had watched the full video i wouldve seen that the motor does that--nice!

Bont basically just said I'm out of luck, and wants me to purchase another pair of Bont shoes! No thanks. I'll live with my other shoes that hurt, but hurt less.

      I'm not all that active with my youtube channel anymore, so I don't really reply to comments. To be honest, everyone prefers their shoes to fit a bit differently, which is dependent on the shape of your foot. I have very wide feet and prefer to have nearly 12mm of extra toe box space for my feet to spread out. I'm in a Double wide Bont shoe these days and still prefer that room. However I know several friends who do not like the feeling of that extra room. They prefer something more along the lines of 3-4mm in the toe box. As long as you have some room for your toes to breath/wiggle you should be good. I'll also add, that at the time of making these videos, I was still learning how to film myself and discuss the topic. Sorry I wasn't presenting enough educational information

      @@sonofacyclist2744 Apologies if I sound overly critical. I am an XC Racer who recently fell in love with Road riding. You would laugh actually as my entire living room is strewn with Sidi shoes I have ordered (5 pair) trying to get the right shoes. My original Sidi Dominator 7 in 44.5 fit perfect (from 2009) and now I am struggling to find the same fit. My Sidi Tiger 2s in 44.5 appear to fit. All the others are road shoes and are too small. So the other shoes I have decided to buy are the Sidi Carbon Air 2 (first road shoes) but the 44.5 my toes just graze the end and the narrower toe box pushes my big toe inward, so I am trying to figure out how to fit road shoes and if I need to go a half or full size up from my toes just grazing the end? I would definitely have bought the Bont shoes if I knew they existed. Their shape is what I am experimenting with in my running shoes (Altras), but I am a Sidi Pro and get them at enough of a discount that the Bont's will have to wait awhile. Thanks for the reply and stay safe! I hope you do more reviews on the Bont shape. I also hope Bont makes the bathtub softer and malleable. God Bless!

    I know this is a 3 yr old content, but something I noticed is that you never talked about acceptable lengths of a shoe, what to consider. Do you get a size 47, when you really wear a 46.5, or do you go with the 46.5 as your standard shoe choice? New people won't know what is best and are susceptible to misinfo from a shop just selling new people what they might now need. Sure it works, but as you pointed out, you wore too tight shoes for years, because they salesman leaned you towards a shoe size that you probably never should have had. Maybe even talk about how Shimano shoes designs differ in fitment from most other shoe brands, as they might require a wedge to help the wearer to correct for an issue most people don't have.. I just felt like this was content about fitment, but really just a cloaked sale pitch for Bont.

    How to reverse ? i was wondering what was the meaning of "to reverse" for a bar tape ...okay thank you that means starting from the top...that makes a good finish without the need of the extra tape but the pressure of the grip from up to down will worn the tape quicker making it peel away. One can too try to avoid the top tape piece by cutting the bar tape so it ends cleanly on the underside of the bar and glueing it.

    I've started wrapping from the top down, but I start with the tape edge pointing forward on the underside of the bar. This way, it keeps my hands from catching the edges of each layer and I won't pull the tape up over time.
