Many of you have seen TheVolvoGuy's video basically doing the exact same thing. I simply am doing it on an actual car I just wanted to say, that the cam locking tools are NOT needed when installing the bolts onto the VVT/Cam hubs. I will explain later.       Check description I have it listed there. It doesnt make sense but the service manual says to do 45 twice in a row which doesnt make any sense. Then 90 degrees then 180 degrees. I elected to do it my own way without the use of an actual torque angle gauge

      The abundance of oil below the timing cover was from me removing that timing cover as well as fixing the READ seal. If the flywheel was leaking it would be from below

      ⁠@@clonetrooper576was your timing covers leaking previously? The area behind the decoupler pulley is wet which is suspect is the crank seal.

    Remember that the only thing that the cam hub locking tool does is hold the cams together so they dont turn against each other allowing you to remove the bolts safely. What I discovered is that the crank being in its locked position, with the chain onto the READ gear, the chain will not allow the cam hubs to turn anyway. Would I still recommend you utilize the cam hub locking tool upon tightening the bolts? probably. But it does not seem to be a requirement. Loosening the bolts you SHOULD absolutely use the tool though.

      They are hydraulic lifters on this engine

      One pro to consider about the convertible is that its less prone to subframe cracking thanks to the enhanced body rigidity

    Try not to stand so close... Once I almost got hit by a hanging belt that was going almost 50mph. That would've dragged me for a while!

    More like around 40mph which is what they run through most cities. Long intros chase off viewers too.

      the long intro is from a long time ago. And, perhaps the intermodal was doing around 55mph, and the coal too maybe less.
