I have always tended to think that applies mostly to early sobriety, but that is incorrect! I believe that they are qualities we should continue to nurture throughout our entire recovery process.
In this video I discuss what happens when I have a closed mind, and how that hurts my ability to hear the message that I need to hear.

Expectations are something we all have! We anticipate things! We have hopes! I truly belive that expectations are healthy, but it is when those expectations go unfulfilled that we get in to trouble. However, we do have the power to change the way we react to those unfulfilled expectations!

When I wake up in the morning, it's imperative that I begin treating my alcoholism. In this video I talk about how I treat my alcoholism on a daily basis. I am aware that the things I did yesterday to remain sober, are not going to keep me sober today. I wake up every morning with untreated alcoholism.

This seems more like the Hallmark version, Earl. I was looking for the AA version of unhealthy expectations and how alcoholics think differently from other people when it comes to unhealthy expectations and more in-depth how we can deal with it.
@loriv.8986 understandable! However, this video was more about how to experience unfulfilled expectations without it negatively affecting my attitude. Also, I believe that whether your expectations are healthy or unhealthy, we still have the choice of how to deal with those expectations going unfulfilled. Thank you so much for commenting!

Healthy expectations, Like how you used the car or a light switch as an example is fine. It's the high expectations of situations unknown, that in my opinion are unhealthy. We tend to be disappointed in those outcomes.
@SianBarker-wd4lb Agreed, high expectations are more difficult, for sure! But, again, we do have power over how we react or respond to these unfulfilled expectations. The higher the expectations, the more difficult it is to respond in a healthy manner. Thanks for commenting!
“Expectations are premeditated resentments.” I had to learn to lower my expectations of other people to keep myself from getting hurt or getting upset by others’ behavior. The one person I have trouble lowering expectations for is myself.

This is not the only option you have, but for the type of real-time,'chat room' type, interactive space, I believe you are looking for, this most closely resembles that type of environment. Also worth noting, discord integrates (links directly)with your RUclips channel. This is most helpful for your subscribers/viewers to hop quickly across to your chat space for questions comments etc. I will include a couple videos on my follow up comment.
