First, a casting director ought to cast Corbin and Wil Wheaton as brothers. Corbin pulls me in; so charismatic. What a great guest! I need to get up to speed on his productions. This may have been the second DB & B episode that triggered me. The tears were flowing twice! A higher power has been at work, and I'm grateful to connect with Tyson and Logan.

Your guests have been great, don't get me wrong, but over the past few weeks, I've been reminded that my main connection to this podcast remains with you two. Most of your guests don't resonate or are focused on subjects unfamiliar to me. I'm sure upcoming guests may be of greater interest. That said, it's amusing to me when you discuss similar things going on in my world (i.e. the "connect" part). For class, they just had us take the Gallup CliftonStrengths talent assessment. The idea is that it helps identify your "most powerful natural talents" in the areas of teamwork, project management, work operations, etc. It's more complex than simply identifying strengths, but that's generally how it's referred. I like to think of this as an "anti-Peter principle" tool, for it takes the focus off a person's weaknesses. Instead, the idea is to understand your strengths and build on those talents and abilities, "to maximize your potential.." As businsss people you should consider this tool. To give you a sense of the basic report, here are my top five out of the possible 34: 1. Intellection® You are characterized by your intellectual activity. You are introspective and appreciate intellectual discussions. 2. Connectedness® You have faith in the links among all things. You believe there are few coincidences and that almost every event has meaning. 3. Learner® You have a great desire to learn and want to continuously improve. The process of learning, rather than the outcome, excites you. 4. Context® You enjoy thinking about the past. You understand the present by researching its history. 5. Command® You have presence. You can take control of a situation and make decisions.

The subject matter hits lots of buttons this week. I am not going to spoil it for anyone reading this before watching or listening, but is quite a balancing act to interject humor into family emergencies, tiptoe religion and acceptance, openly expressing brotherly love and putting "love thy neighbor as thy self" into action. I tell people about this podcast whenever the opportunity arises. There's so much to discuss, so much to do, so many to help.

Logan and Tyson, this one couldn't be more timely. Every Sunday evening, I meet with my life coach in Australia (obviously Monday morning his time). My last meeting was challenging as he got on me for allowing the demons in my head to talk negatively. He's my tough love dude, and he's really making a difference. I try not to convey those negative thoughts and feelings in my videos, but they are still there. It's all based on my desire to get back into a loving relationship again, and he's nudging me to help myself, to get me in the right mindset to be sociable again and create those opportunities to meet the right person. His catch question is always, "What's stopping you?" He can't do it for me, but he's often made me stop and think about what I must do. Negative self-talk is how I've built my life, and it shows. But the inspirations in social media have kicked my ass since December, and turning it around has done a lot to build positivity and gratitude. The new meds opened the windows in my mind to let me see it, but the daily reinforcement from Robert, you two, Pete, Scott, Justin, and others keeps me moving in the right direction. I soak it all in, and it's changing my thought processes. It's part of my larger plan, preparing me for the next stage of my life to be happy and prosperous.

From my POV, tough love is based on an ultimatum and is considered a last resort. Some parents now use social media as a threat, and if the child's behavior continues, they post an embarrassing video. I've heard people on talk radio describe that as mental abuse. Would that act correct the behavior or create resentment? I'm glad I'm not a parent. The first time I recall watching "tough love" get played out on television was a peer, the late actress Carrie Hamilton. She abused alcohol and drugs at different times in her teens, and her parents made some tough love decisions. They went on national television to tell the world about what occurred. That was something I hadn't experienced in my own family, at least at the time. After my parents died, my niece was dealt harshly with "tough love" when she struggled with chemical dependency during her high school years. Her treatment has been the subject of a few documentaries, such as "Teen Torture, Inc." and "The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping." You both are the best, as hosts and dads. There's so much good to come!

It's difficult to look at myself in the mirror. When I was a teen, I began lying to myself. Most days, in front of a mirror, I protect myself and do not see the person I truly am. I go into denial about my physical condition. Then, someone will send me a group photo where I can see myself next to others. The pressures of friends telling me not to compare myself to others come rushing forth. And now that I am aging, I see those changes in the mirror. My new life coach took me to task on that. He used the analogy of a puppy and an old dog. Both are cute in their own way, and I can be attractive in my own way. Losing weight and building muscle is helping me get past the issue. I am seeing the changes and I like that.

Great video, guys. Logan, the thing I see the most for getting help is the insurance not wanting to pay for the services that someone may need, and the out of pocket expense. As a non-profit, I have had to send people on their way to soon before anything could be accomplished with them.
