I lived near the CSX line in Montgomery County MD. I was fascinated by the trains going by and the ones with loads of coal made a real racket. Then the coal trains stopped during the pandemic. I also saw lots of import cars going west. In the 70's the World Bank built a steel plant in Brazil and they used US coal that was transported to Newport News VA on heavy gage track. I dated a man who worked for the World Bank who wondered why we were helping Brazil to built plants that made steel putting our steel industry out of business. I wonder where this coal is going. My largest train was 185 cars of coal with four engines pulling it.

Normally they add a 3rd locomotive to the train at Connellsville b4 it hits the Cumberland division, but someone must've been sleeping on the job to miss this agregeaus mistake
