Toddler Sitting at Group Time - Step 1 Speech Pathology
Step 1 Find out what 'song' childcare or preschool sing for group time. Sing it!
Step 2 Use the same blanket and song each time and same area if you can.
Step 3 Do 'book time' even if your little one is not involved, it's about setting a routine.
Step 4 No pressure play. Calm, open invites, no directives, no demands.
Step 5 Have them move or hold something to help with regulation.
Step 6 Offer choices when you see them start to make choices.
Step 7 Move slowly, set a goal that doesn't involve the child having to do anything.
As we had already done - chasies, squishies and had snacks I could see his body was ready for some book time.
