George was playing the blues at a time when the blues was at its lowest point of popularity…Stevie Ray wasn’t known yet, Clapton was recording tame country-pop, Johnny Winter and other blues-steeped guitarists were considered has-beens, and all the old original blues men like Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker, were past their prime. George kept the faith going!

Got to see them at the Colorado Fair in the late 80s. Absolutely awesome show! Great energy, lots of fun, they sounded incredible live.

I saw them in the late 70’s with Johnny Winter as the warmup. To this day, the best concert I have ever been to!

Went to one of their concerts, back in the day. They electrified the place. It was amazing. There is no way to explain, in words, the whole vibe. No drugs needed.

Saw them play in a little bar in new Hope, PA. John’s Place later named John and Peter’s. Band sitting on barstools just wailing! Great stuff!! I want 5 feet from the players. Probably just as drunk as George.

Saw George in 81 New Orleans opened for the stones......bad ass!!

Saw them at the Stone Balloon in Newark De. First show with a sax player. Fantastic show and venue.
