Is this for sale
@@GaryDavis-ll4uc it sold not long after I posted this video
Alignment will be needed to correct the front tow.
How much do you charge for this upgrade
Never mind those bullet holes in the door. That truck has since been born again and staying on the straight and narrow.
That sucks
Looks great
@@DroooooopDead thank you
Great job! Sounds like you are in Tennessee. Are you in Nashville? The tag said North Carolina so I am not sure. I have a 1963 Lincoln Continental with suicide doors. Talk about vacuum lines. I know all about that. I always wondered about the glass for those. Is it expensive? Where do you get it?
@@dlucas527 in NC, charlotte area All glass is still available through most glass companies.
@@gordonsmart good to know. Yes, some of my car parts come out of NC. I am traveling the world now. 58 countries so far. I want to do a few old trucks. I am not sure about the swap idea yet. I love the additional power but I still love the feel of the old trucks. Also, I am not a mechanic so I only have basic tools. No plasma cutters. No heavy machines for lifting etc. I'm sure that will come with time. However, it is much easier to find parts for S-10 trucks etc. Thanks for the information.
it is not boring at all. You do the best job of explaining and a lot of guys leave a lot out. So thanks. I appreciate the advice and things to look out for.
@@dlucas527 thank you
how i contact you?
2 inch rear blocks rt.
Without a doubt book time is most likely 2.4 hours r&r.
i’m doing the same conversion with my 89. i’m sure i got a fuel system problem, did you replace your pump in the tank with a lower psi pump?
@@caleb5850 I left the factory psi pump in the tank but used a fuel pressure regulator up at the carb. Your local parts store carries a Mr. Gasket brand adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I buy mine at advance auto. Hanging on the wall in the performance section
yessir i got a mr gasket hooked to the carb. found out its not the original tank under there it’s a 91 or 92 bubble caprice plastic tank and fuel pump. could that be the problem, do i need the 89 tank with the 89 fuel pump?
@@caleb5850 it should be the same pump regardless of the tank. 91-92 was tbi correct?
@@gordonsmart yessir i believe so, the car is turning over and all just don’t want to crank all the way
What size wheels are on this thing
U raised the bed floor to use lower cab mounts! And keep it lower the body
Just gt a 52 chevy truck! Wish me luck😂
Yes, the Caprice also came with the Buick 3.8, so you're spot on with that guess.
What and where did you get the from for the steering
@@matthewmontoya7639 “get the from the steering?” Not sure what you mean
The steering linkage and knuckles attached to the steering wheel
@@matthewmontoya7639 you can order those thru jegs, summit racing, even Amazon

What about the 2001 to 2005 tahoe?? I recently did a 53 3100 and i used a 95 s10 single long bed and to me was to narrow, i end up using 2” spacers for front and back wheels and I’m using 20x8’s front 20x11 back so not to sure if tahoe might work and I check and tahoe has same wheel to wheel measurements
I have a 52 Chevy, these videos gave me a idea where to start and some pep to get it done 👍 thanks
Thanks for keeping it short and simple 😎😅
What are you guys doing on front clip around radiator? I'm putting a 49 3100 on 97 single cab long bed S10 frame. I have cut the frame even with gear box but I have still had to cut bottom of radiator support brack and notch the front clip.
Hi gordon, i have a 89 caprice that has a 305 in it i wanted to swap it to a 350 that i took out of a 88 caprice do i have to swap transmission too or can i run it with the original transmission from the 305
@@AndresRodriguez-gl1io all small block Chevy and big block Chevy have the same bolt pattern this would also include the 4.3 v6 So yes
@gordonsmart woah Gordon your amazing and I really appreciate you getting back to me. Trying to bring back my grandma's 89 that she gave me she is the original owner
Love it Awesome
I literally just bought a suburban exactly like this one. Same color, wheels and step rails. I plan on doing the same thing with mine
Daddy says he needs those springs on his garage doors👍🏿
that trim with the nice curve in it goes on the back of the cab where the blue meets the white
You hit the nail on the head when you said "the bed-- is there"
Looks pretty good.
If you want to see a classic kei truck hit me up lol, I'm Alan Gordon's cousin by marriage. I've seen you at church. I knew you liked bikes but didn't know you had a thing for classic vehicles
Great video man love that truck I can’t wait to own one like it
Nice video. Any patina s10 converted trucks for sale currently ?
I thought he was going to rearend the blue truck. Awesome truck by the way.... actually both of them.
17:05 was horrible watching that caliper fall. Come on man! Use a damn zip tie or bungy.
cool. i have a 68 with dual wheels i bought for a mobile hunting/fishing camp. its been sitting fot 25 years.
How much a 350 engine cost like that?
I got 1 for sale that came out a 88 cheby caprice
@@AndresRodriguez-gl1io is it good enough to keep up with interstate cars/pass em? this 305 ain't shit..
@youngjj757 yeah I have a 305 in my 89. But the 350 have more power like I just bought a 88 caprice runing and driving with a 350 in it for $650. I was gonna swap it but I think I am just gonna keep my original engine in my 89 and just put bigger headers and shit like that and it will basically almost make the same power of the 350. But let me tell you the 88 I just bought with the 350 that shit sounds beast

This truck is for sale. The “valley view farm” reminded me of the ad. Dealership in NC called Streetside classics has it listed on eBay.
Maybe I missed it, but what is the width of the rear axle you have, looks like 55 inch? Or am I seeing wrong?
That transmission tunnel guy did a good job
I did a similar flip kit in the rear of my 88 suburban but without a Notch and I even used shock relocation brackets I don’t see how you drove that thing without the shocks constantly bottoming out because that’s what mine is doing.
Pretty sure we went back and put shock extensions on this one after the video was posted. Vehicle is gone now.
Wasn't GM so cheap that they just cut off 4 cylinders on a 305 small block V8 making the displacement the biggest for a 4 cylinder at the time? Definitely a boat anchor of a motor and such a cheap car that could have had the basic luxuries at a cheap price like standard a/c, power windows, power steering and a better radio. GM still loves to nickle dime their customers. Precisely why the Japanese came over here with their vehicles and changed the game and put cum all over the faces of the American car companies.
My first car was a 74 burgandy w a white vinyl top and hub caps. That 77 w 4 headlights and rallies is pretty sweet❤
It did Soundeth really good,
