This is the best cooking video I've seen in a long time. Just real time, very few cuts, pleasant background music. I have one of these squash and no idea how to cook it so this helped me a ton

Thanks for the tips on how to use patty pan squash! They actually do sell them at supermarkets in the Summer,here in England. I have often been tempted to try them,but never really knew how to use them. I always just buy courgettes/zucchini for my Summer squash fix...and butternut or spaghetti squash for my Winter squash fix. 🤤😋

Thanks for the ideas! I'm happy to see the patty pan volunteer plant I just found in the field behind my house are not too big to eat as they are (possibly tough skins.) How will they be best stored; I have 26? I have them in a single layer in boxes on the patio, but maybe the fridge will be better? How long do they generally keep at room temp or the fridge?

How.many watts is that motor. I just ordered a 100w motor for a shaker table I'm making for looking for Arrowheads.

You say they "grow well in this area's climate." Where are you, what area. I have two successful plants growing. All other varieties were eaten by vermin or died. I'm in the Portland Oregon area.

You rock. I've cooked squash a hundred times but my buddy gave me some of these and I was unsure. I'm just gonna dice em up with my other squash and make a succotash. I've never heard of that nutritional yeast stuff though, what exactly is that? A seasoning?

Good ideas !! But you don`t show what the final product looks like when its done. ?

I like the idea of using sheets for shade. I try to limit the use of plastic products, especially things that are going to degrade in the sun, shed microplastics, and end up in the landfill. So prefer not to use commercial shade cloth. Plus… you are keeping those thrift store sheets out of the landfill too. I also use sheets that I tear into strips for tying fruits and veggies to trellises, etc. Sometimes we just need to do things the way our grandma’s did. ❤

Any recipes for green tomatoes, other then fried green tomatoes

I was thinking use a solar panel connected to an aquarium refresher and keeping water outside agitated, this is epic!

my mom and i just picked up a rescue dog yesterday, and the kind lady who was fostering him gave us some fresh squash from her garden - but neither of us have ever seen this type of squash before! i couldn't make heads or tails of how to cut it lol. this video was super straightforward and really de-mystified the process, so we'll be having some oven roasted squash with dinner tonight :) thank you for this video!!

The zucchini plant we bought from our local nursery was mislabeled - and patty pan squash is now what we've got! Thanks so much for these ideas, I feel less disappointed and I'm looking forward to playing around with this flat, funny squash!

A very delicious squash, easy to grow and to cook. I used to cube them and either saute them or boil them. Easy! No peeling needed! And best of all, my three kids loved them!

My Southern Grandmother called these "Cymlins", pronounced SIM-lins. She would cook them with chopped onions, in some bacon fat.

I was at a food stand today. The lady grows her own veggies and sell it. I seen these and passed them up because I had no clue on how to cook them. I for sure love the 🍕 pizza idea. Thank you I will consider buying one now. All 4 ways were so helpful and it all looked so delicious 👍🏿

A neighbor my daughter does a little work for, gave us some of this squash fresh from her garden. Since I had never cooked with pattypan before, I had to Gooogle for some help and was so glad I came across your video. BTW, I live not to far from you. I'm about halfway between Victoria and Yoakum. Small world! I sautéed the pattypan as you did in the video - Delicious! I also made "pizza" using a little marinara sauce ,Jimmy Dean sausage and parmesan. My family and I loved it! Thanks for posting the video!

How long to you keep the plants covered?

What no peppers on the squash pizza? Id add peppers and onions to them. ( if they like squash pizza their eat onions)
