I think you would benefit from some lessons in presentation. The actual demonstration started at nearly the halfway point. There was no structure to it overall. You didn’t explain any of the machine’s features or accessories. It was really haphazard.

Hmmm, the 990 costs 22,000 USD, and you are going to just plug it into the wall, really. BUY, an APC 850MV UPS for it, plug that in, and use the "surge/batt backup" ports for it, the electric table and light at your sewing station, power goes out, this unit keeps your machine running, until you can get to a point in project, and then stop, and shutdown safely. Always unplug machine from this unit, and then turn unit off. READ MANUAL on these units so you know how to use them. What is 150 more dollars in the face of 22,000 of them?

I understand what you did with the fabric. I did not see this video before I bought my fabric. Could I fold it in half by the width and sew up one side then follow your instructions the rest of the way?

Do you have any lessons for hemming knit slacks/pants? I have several pairs of new pants I need to shorten and don't know where to begin. They currently have 2 rows of top stitching and the edge is overlocked finished. On one set I have about 2-3" to shorten, but on the other only about 1-2". I also don't have anyone to help me so also looking for suggestions how to correctly determine where to cut. Any suggestions/help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

For the neck binding, do you only sew one of the shoulder seams initially?

You did a great job in explaining, and showing, this rise alteration in a great step by step video. I am so excited about this. I've been fighting this alteration for sooooo long and even tried to pay a tailor or seamstress to show me this alteration and none of them were interested, so you have my vote. I only do these for myself. I taught myself about sewing because I try to look right when I go out on the town. I am 74 years old and enjoy the finished product when it's right. Thank you many times over.

This was super helpful, thanks! I'm attempting to make a tent using silpoly fabric. It's incredibly lightweight (like 20 denier) and is silicone coated, so it's pretty slippery. Do you think the guide foot would still be the best method, or would you recommend something else? I've also noticed it's a bit dangerous to iron seams on low heat with this stuff. Any ideas how I could crease a light slippery fabric like this accurately?

Can you show how you would do a fully fled hem (a hem that is a large circle. Not sure what you call this in US). Because of the slight round it will pucker? Any suggestions?
