Testing Dead Mouse Mic Baffle In 15-25 Knot Wind With Simorr Mic and Panasonic GH5

The mic is a Simorr, its a 3.5mm jack with 4 terminal plug, I had to use adapter to 3 terminal style for the Panasonic GH5 to receive proper audio. I removed the foam cover and used a ~3.5cm dead mouse wind baffle. This is the result. Unfortunately, I need more baffle as I still had wind noise.
San Hima Gas Hot Water Heater - 1 Year Review

TLDR: Great unit, just be sure to let water run out after use in winter, or it will freeze inside and crack the manifold. So far I have achieved 33 showers from an 8.5 kg gas cylinder and there is still some gas left. The 12v pump is cheap and noisy, but it does work and gives sufficient pressure. I only used the pump a few times before I got mains water connected to my shed. The unit now (2024...

Collecting lead crystal glasses - most common finds
It's a shame GStove went out of business. I bought the standard size version in 2022 and still haven't gave it its first burn yet. It's 2024 and I was still able to find a 3L water tank and a tent protector pipe sleeve. The tent protector looks to be a poor Design, but the stainless steel is high-quality and tough. The bad design comes from the method the sleeve attaches to the stove pipe, using 6 long screws. The idea is that the sleeve should tighten snug, but the protector is much heavier than the pipe section, and I won't want to leave any divits in my pipe. The water tank is something I've wanted for a few years and finally got one. I wanted to post here that since the GStove pipe oven is also no longer for sale that I took a chance and bought a Winnerwell pipe oven. It's box-shaped and the specs say it's for the 2.36" pipe. Yes, the Winnerwell oven fits the GStove pipe LIKE A BOSS. It's an identical fit. Just perfect.. almost too perfect. So yea, it looks like the Winnerwell and GStove 2.36" and 2.5" measurements are basically the same thing, where 2.36" is probably referencing the smaller end of the stove pipe, but it looks like the two stoves are probably component-friendly.
The process for commercial acid polishing wasn’t invented until the 1920s, anything preceding that will be polished the hard way. The ribbed decanter was made for pubs, inns and hotels circa.1840-90, however, the flange at the base of the neck was popular from the 1830s, so I would guess it’s nearer the 1840 end of the spectrum. The stopper shape of the scale cut decanter was popular in the early Victorian era, most likely 1850-70. The hobnail decanter is difficult to pin down, but I think late Victorian, maybe Edwardian.
Great info, thanks, always wondered when they began acid polishing.
Thanks
What pressure did you have on mains? Like turn the tap all the way on or just a little on
Its ok to have the mains tap on all the way, however normally I back it off a little as it reduces water flow a bit and then I don't need to turn the gas up as high. However you need to turn it off when finished, as it will drip at the connection point and where the shower hose is connected. After turning off the tap, I also open the shower head, to de-pressurise the hose etc.
@wanderingsandmusings9255 and did you replace the shower hose and head did you say
@@sandiek9151 The hose just unscrews from the unit, on a standard 1/2 inch pipe thread. The issue is its a plastic thread on the hose, so very easy to break.
Okay, yep, most RUclipsrs are bought, and if they trash the product, no more product for them! I will totally agree that the Lumix S9 is a bizarre camera, and what has been put in and what has ben left out from Lumix S9 is very questionable. But the camera is not junk, it maybe a little over priced, and should of had at least a smart hotshoe and headphone jack, if it is for content creators. But the image and adaptation to anamorphic lenses are features that interest me. I am considering buying the Lumix S9 as a dedicated lightweight anamorphic lens camera. I get the frustration and the precieved honesty! But that is the industry, and favours will be offered for compliance. It is not the only industry like this. I am not condoning it. I'm just saying it is what it is, and they all stated Lumix flew them out. So that is life in the world of reviews!!!!
It will be interesting how it sells pre-owned in a year or two from now.
As you go further back into the 19th century you see less and less numbered stoppers and bottles, also hardly any Scandinavian decanters have numbers. The rule should be, if it has numbers, they should match.
Kev is everywhere :)
Makes sense - have seen quite a few without numbers.
@@wanderingsandmusings9255 lol, since I started my own glass channel it’s like the pit of despair. You think you know something, then you trip and fall into the hole of your own ignorance, over and over. But learning is fun……right?
I use a similar camera taking photos while mobile on a touring motorcycle. Looking to replace it.
I want a similar camera with a 1 inch sensor, but there isn't one on the market as far as can see.
No QR code???
Generic batteries are not only extremely dangerous since it's li-ion, they almost certainly don't provide same amount of current that genuine batteries do, so you actually lose torque.
Yep! I found my generic does not power my reciprocating saw.
People seem to think the Waitley brand ones perform best out of all the knockoffs.
good to know!
I have four small glasses that have a J imprint. I got them for $1 each but they have bubbles and I can tell the bottom is quite rough but not sure on the age. But I’d say at least 1870 ? Cheers.
1870 to 1890 sounds about right if they have a lot of wear - that can be the best guide.
@@wanderingsandmusings9255 cheers mate yes they do one can see they have been around. One question if I may sir ? Is I have a glass with an almost exact mark on the bottom. But the glass has what appears to be like a pearl glaze in the glass. It’s hard to explain but it’s different in respect to the colour of the glass. And it has a thick rim on the top with a little bump with not an exact evenness on the rim. Ranging from 1 mm to 2 mm around the tip rim. But it’s very interesting topic that can be quiet hard to date some items. I often find it difficult in finding makers marks on glass. Sometimes it’s anything from 3 small lines to an initial or a pattern. But sometimes it’s just wear or manufacturer imperfections. But thank you for your channel I’ll be sure to keep updated with any information you have. I have a huge range of glassware perhaps several thousand items. It was a hobby with the majority being items from old estates. Living in a RUAL town in Southern Western Australia has huge ranges of these antique glasses of all kinds. Particularly with these items staying with settlers brought over from England and Europe in the mid to late 1800s. But I find it fascinating the history and the huge amount of particularly French glassware whom I believe held the making of glassware with a high degree of security in the 16th century and particularly from England getting their hand on the manufacture process until it was learnt in France then brought over to the UK. Forgive me if I’m incorrect it was something I read many years back. Thank you again. Best of luck and I look forward to watching your channel in the future. Regards Patrick Bridgetown WA.👍🇦🇺👌
@@PatrickWilson-v3d Hard to say without looking at it, I don't see many pearl-like antique glass items, if any at all. If you put a video of it on youtube I'm happy to take a look.

Is it good for changing pickup truck tires ?
Yes, I believe it would work fine for that.
It has roughly the same amount of torque as their previous top tier DCF899. Granted you use genuine battery that is at least 5Ah. Although 6Ah normal or 5Ah PowerStack give the absolute best performance you can get out of this tool. So while pricey, they definitely worth it if you serious about it.
I too film random people whilst listening to some slavic doomer music.

What are my 3 favorites? It’s hard to pick only 3! I like my Olympus 12-200 f3.5-6.3 as a one lens solution but my top 3 would probably be: 1. Pana/leica 12-60 f2.8-4 2. Olympus 40-150 f2.8 3. Leica 42.5 f1.2 I find your choices to be very interesting. All manual focus?
sounds like a good choice there, 12-200 would be a good one for me to try one day. The 12-35 is autofocus, but I often use it in manual mode too.
How well does IBIS help with the 500mm lens?
It's very helpful indeed, have taken many handheld photos in good light. For video, you will get some shake, with moments of smoothness in between, and if its windy micro jitters even when using a tripod. The jitters can be removed in post if you have time. For best results set focal length somewhere between 300 and 340 mm in the stabiliser settings, and use IS lock.
I think, if this GH7 offer some basics new things [revolutionary] for the price, it may be the best camera on the market for now. But I would really appraciate some new things like: uncrop 5.7k up to 120p 10-bit video with AF, some uncrop C4K up to 180p in 10-bit with AF, Internal Prores Raw 10/12-bit, uncrop 2k oversampling 5.7k Slow Motion up to 400p in 10-bit 422 with AF available, Dual Native ISO 600/6400, 15+ Stop Dynamic Range, About 3-hours 5.7k video, Intenal 6+ Stop ND, and with the integration of Viltrox, Sirui and Sigma/Tamron/Samyang new AF lens companies cooperation in the M43 system. So, those things could really make the GH7 a really great camera to buy, and alsoto be part of the m43 system
Indeed that would be incredible! I think though a lot of those specs are still some way off for Panasonic.
I’m not buying the GH7. I want a small photocentric body. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
would love to see a m43 compact gm5 style release
Great discussion - I love my GH6 - after years of g85 with poor AF in 4K - the GH6 is amazing and the colour science is amazing
that's great, glad the GH6 is getting some love!
Are You an AI ? 🤖
Your audio is fine, but this video is too shaky without any stab. You could probably use the Lumix. It'll be better than this.
the adpocalypse changed youtube at a fundamental level- before people used to make vids for fun, cos it was cool or it was educational. then after they only make vids with $$$ as the primary factor - look at photojoseph, dustin armstrong. Greed took over and integrity took a back seat. I call this out when i see it , but i might aswell be pissing into the wind tbh.. the problem is rampant and geralds video is warranted in my view.
No one needs to tear their hair out on camera to get the point across that (depending on the user’s needs) $1500 might be better spent elsewhere. I have a clear enough picture of the strengths and weaknesses to know I personally have a use case for the S9 which no other camera matches at this size. But do I see this as a good general purpose camera for the money? Not at all.
the real crisis is the crisis of credibility of the youtube camera circle
@@wanderingsandmusings9255 I don’t see a crisis. There’s nothing going on now that’s any different from 30, 40, 50 years ago when the reviews appeared on magazine racks rather than on our phones. Except for the number of reviewers I suppose. There’s many more now, but I don’t think they are any more shill-ish today than an any point prior to now.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Yes, I do like it
It sound like a slightly newer FP with ibis and flippy screen. Tbh I'm not that interested in the body, but I'll probably buy the compact lenses to slap on my fp 😂 I'm probably crazy but I'd be interested in it if it was a fpL competition with 50mpx instead of 25. Ibis and better autofocus would make it an upgrade, but I'm not willing to downgrade the resolution. After using the fpL for a long time, the compact body even with a big lens is actually a huge quality of life improvement. I can slap on the external evf and a 100-400, or I can throw on a wide angle and teat it like a disposable camera, all in the same package.
If this camera 1500 bucks or less its a great deal to me
Congrats on lasting 20mn with no more info than the thumbnail.
lol!
If it had an evf it wouldve been a winner, without it, I think its too divisive, some will love it some will hate it
The important thing is it beats the Fuji x100vi. The Fuji is probably going to be the same price mate
Without a viewfinder? I don't think so, most of the user experience of the x100 comes from it's hybrid ovf/evf
@@CianMcsweeney full frame is far more important than a viewfinder. Flippy screen is also more important than an evf, providing the auto af is good enough, and it will be!
@@18yearsoldnot for what? 😂 I have both full frame and apsc cameras and there really isn't that much of a difference in quality these days unless you're obsessed with bokeh. A viewfinder, for photography at least is essential for framing shots properly
@@CianMcsweeney I have a few cameras too and I never use the evf. Are you long sighted or a hipster? 😜 full frame in my experience is way better for landscapes - especially when there’s bright snow that’ll clip the highlights or even in the evening when you want to capture sunsets
So… similar to the Sigma FP then.
I'm not sure if I could be LESS interested in this predicted camera! It will still be expensive and the video people will still buy Sony. No EVF - no sale.
I really want a small L-mount body I can use for travel, so this is perfect for me.
We will know for sure in a couple of days, but I suspect this will cost about $1500 with the f8 kit lens now rumored, which will give a younger audience an introduction to L-mount, and for better or worse Panasonic’s menu system. And that’s why they build cameras like this, in hopes that a few users eventually upgrade to the next level and buy an S5II and more S lenses. What I’m curious to see is whether they include some form of open gate filming. The teaser video is all verticals and this might suggest it. 9:16 without having to hold the camera sideways might be a winner. We will see.
Panasonic’s menu system is just fine. From what rumors are saying there will be a cleaner more basic menu system for the S9.
Will it do landscape photography well? If it does, and is $2000 ausd or near, I'll order.
