Un boxing and mounting RVL8 release bindings
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.2 года назад
My first look at some very cool new release bindings from RVL8. I mounted them up on my un riden playmakers. Always safe for you to bring in your boots and new bindings into a professional shop so they can adjust them for proper use . These are only sold at skiboardsonline.com and they really add to the look of any new skiboard. Many different colors to choose from as well as color bindings fro...

When the pros head back home and we have another day to ski. I join in bunch of thrill and trail seekers. Trying the slingshots out for the day. I must say I like more of a twin tip as I tend to like to maneuver with my tails more then I knew.

Wild!
Awesome, thanks for sharing.
Good stuff Tom!
Where is this place, can you pls give details, I would like to ski at that mountain
The tree section (tight trees)is off the Blue Sky lift. As your riding up the lift it’s to the right.
i love that you've got one person in snowboard bindings, one in release bindings, and one in non-release bindings :D
Those look super dope. Thanks for the video!
I might have to get a pair... What is the weight compair spruce riser? Lighter, heavier, same?
so clean!!! had a chance to try them yet? I’m torn between these and waiting for the spruce risers to come back in stock. I see these have a slightly taller height, which is a bit of a turn off but these look amazing!!
Just got them in, plan on going out within a week to use them, they appear to be the same height, 1” is what I’m coming up with, spruce might be just a hair under that??
"cross corner tighten" - good advice!
This is the dream!!
Nice pants 🙂👖
nice
what runs are the ones through the trees?
I think the lift is outback express.. we go left at the top of that and venture into those trees ... hope that helps ?
Love your videos. I have few questions I'm hoping you can help me with if you don't mind. I'm thinking about getting a skiboard. I've never skied before but I have snowboarded. Anyway, I'm getting older and all I wanna do is have fun with my son going down a hill the easiest less injury prone way possible. I was hoping you could answer this for me. 1. Is this easy to learn? 2. Should I go with shorter (88) or longer (110cm) and 3. Should I go with ski boots or snowboard boots? I already have snowboard boots. Thanks for your help.
Thanks for watching them. Skiboarding is probably one of the easier of the snow sliding options to do. While they are shorter it makes it so the crossing the tips and tripping yourself . I prefer ski boots because they are more of a instance turning as opposed to a more comfort with snowboard boots . They do take a little getting use to the very minor reaction time. Short verse long , in my opinion would be depending on the mountain and it’s steepness. Shorter are very playful but they might lack the extra length of the sides to keep your speed in control. Come find more of us on Facebook the page is skiboard connection , or skiboardonline.com will answer any questions you have for what you need to set you up.
@@TomB91381 Thank you so much for the help!
Dude! That was amazing! I need to up my skills so I can come to one of these again and try to keep up with you guys!
hey, I have been to Vail 3 times this year and havent seen ANY other skiboarders? are you all friends or how do you link up?
A little Facebook group called the skiboard connection. A few locals were here as were a couple of out of staters . Find that group if your on Facebook
@@TomB91381 thanks a lot man. I'll check it out
Such an awesome day!
Those two thumbs-downs are Australians liking this.
Nice, but that ending was a bit abrupt. ;-)
I never said I was a editor making a short movie. I’ll try harder
@@TomB91381 You do a much better job than me, especially with your choice of music.
Real good footage!
I didn’t cut out to much. Just tried to edit in more of the footage I had. Going to get some more footage next week and I needed to clear up some space on my iPad
Oldies??? 😂😂
The 3 days prior I was skiing with the pros , the 30 something club. So yep oldies. But goodies ?
@@TomB91381 Old, but gold!
Congratulations beautiful video, how are you with the skiboards?
I do great with them. I come from a roller and in-line skating background so they tend to be very easy for me.
What model do you use?
I was on Rvl8 spliff
@@TomB91381 I got a few questions because I am going to buy a pair. 1. Do you recommend non release or release bindings 2. Which model is best for parks, moguls, groomers or which model has a mix of everything 3. How is their customer service
@@pearcebernstone9659 I don’t do the park, but those that do prefer the DLPs or the KTPs. If your adding some all mountain riding I would go with the DLPs, unless your a bigger guy. Over 200lbs I hear the KTPs are a little stiffer but shorter. The DLPs offer a little more length to assist on landing and add a little stability when at higher speeds. The bindings are a toss up. I use release as I’m older and can’t afford the consequences of a bad fall. But if your doing the park stuff I haven’t seen many with a releasable binding. Ask Greco at SkiBoardsonline.com for assistance he will dial you in on exactly what will be best for you . Tell him you saw one of my videos , it helps me for when I ski with him. They have a code too “I met a skiboarder Might be one word. Best luck. Also Facebook has a page called the skiboard connection. Come find our little community
@@TomB91381 alright thank you so much man. Much appreciated. I’ll make sure to let him know that I spoke with you. Thanks for all the help. Stay safe
@@TomB91381 wait how do I find Greco on the website to talk with him. If I email them will he be the one to automatically see my email?
It troubles me that nobody is watching these. Skiboards are too good for youtube I guess lol
skiboards are best , skis are for nerds and grandpas
That was a fun day.
Will a RVL8 revolt survive this deep? 😅
I wouldn’t do that. The wider the better that day . Kirk was on his boards and did ok. Dave had switched out his boards , only had KTP’s to change to. The stiffer seemed to work out a little better. But the wider ones carried us better in this type of wet deep snow
Hello, look so happy.
great video; i really enjoyed it
What app do you use for that speed tracker? Does it record the video with the speed, or do you add that in post?
Chasing Vertical that what is shown is from the GoPro app, it’s in a drop down portion that has a few different items to select to add to the screen when you download
Tom Bowen cool! Thanks!
.. Greco I’m Sure it would track over my take it easy approach , Shredfest will be here soon enough. Talon should have it on his GoPro too.
Hi Tom - thanks for posting all of you 'boarding clips, I appreciate the content! Quick question for you, I see you've ridden the Sticky's, and looks like you're riding mostly the Blunt XL's now. Is that due to the off-piste riding you've gravitated towards? Wonder what you thoughts are between the Sticky's and the XL's for general riding? Thanks!
Adam Brade the stickies are great in packed and groomed conditions, loved them for when I first started. Their shape makes for easy control and turns. Some times the XL’s are the right choice , especially when there’s fresh pow very much in many of the meet ups I videoed. With my season starting soon I most likely be on the stickies until everything gets deeper. Thanks for watching and commenting , let’s me know someone is watching.. Tom
@@TomB91381 Thanks for the comparison!
Bahaha. Freakin bladers
what kind of skiboards? camber? or rocker camber?
Looks like a lot of fun! Wish I was there!
You can change the view by either moving your device or moving a finger on the screen to the area you want to see from
I like the 360 footage you should subscribe to my channel for some similar content
Great video! Blunts handle the deep stuff like a champ!
Kinh Williams yea, they did great. Had a little figuring out at the start in the deep stuff. But when I did it was a sweet ride.. gonna have to own a pair now, those were a borrowed pair
Gotcha. I actually prefer the feel of the BWPs over my Blunt XLs but I never got to ride them in conditions like these so that's probably why. I know everyone swears by Blunt XLs so I'll be keeping them, I just need to save up for a proper ski-boot/binding setup instead of the softboot setup I have now.
This makes it look like the trees are jumping out of your way. Well, except that one 😂
This is just raw unedited footage
How do you like them? are they any good for pow?
Surge Zherebchuk I didn't get them in the fresh POW , I used my Crossbows that day, but the next day on these SII we searched for powder in the trees and they were great in that.
How do you like these? I'm considering these and the RVL8 Sticky Icky Icky's. New to the sport, switching from snowboarding.
Jono Frono they are great for the all mountain that I do, not to sure what type of skiing your gonna do though? I would go with a stiffer one for rails and jumps
I'm looking for an all arounder that can handle most conditions. Not going to do much for jumps and rails. Thanks for the reply!
Jono Frono no problem , the other sone would be the RVL8 sticky icky , a little bit shorter and response about the same
Fred can stir up a crowd. Young or old.
Billy sings much better than Chester.More passion,energy,expressiveness....And most importantly-Billy is not trying to copy Scott. It's still no one will. Billy cool. I Express to him our sincere admiration.
Fucking awesom
He tries
FANTASTIC!
I thought this was the best opening song that Camp Freddy has done, at least of all of the shows I've been to
he looks like a mix between Scott Weiland and Christopher Walken....
