As soon as she went “dead in the water” with the forward speed and weight it was only a matter of seconds before she hit the pylon even if power came on last minute which did happen. It’s amazing that first responders stopped bridge traffic and helped any people out of cars and off the bridge. They saved a lot of lives, and are true hero’s. Thoughts go out to those who were involved in this tragedy.

Ни одной машины на мосту не было, такое впечатление, что всё заранее спланировано

Корабль как будто специально въехал в опору... пролёт был широкий, даже для него

Возможно капитан не учëл силу течения реки и течением его снесло. Капитан пытался пересилить течение, выправить курс судна работой винтов на полную мощность (густой чëрный дым), но немного не успел (задел опору моста вскользь). Но видимо успел предупредить аварийные службы движения и ори перекрыли поток машин через мост.
