The largest plant conservation institution in Bangladesh, covering an area of roughly 84 hectares (210 acres), is comprised of the National Botanic Garden of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh National Herbarium. It is situated close to the Dhaka Zoo in Mirpur-2 in Dhaka, 1100. It began to exist in 1961. It serves as a botanic garden, a resource for botanists and nature enthusiasts, and a popular tourist attraction. A scientific collection of almost 100,000 preserved plant specimens can be found in the herbarium.
