When reassembling the gear train for the rotary switch (6:00) be sure that the two timing holes in the two large gears are pointing toward the small gear between them. This assures that the rotary switch fingers will be sitting on a segment of the printed circuit board pattern (and not between two of them) when the clear plastic operating lever is released by the cam on the under side of the upper large gear, signaling the time is on the hour. The lever allows a switch to close (making a click) that plays the full chime and the hour count which is determined by the position of the rotary switch. The switch also starts a timer that plays the 15, 30, and 45-minute chimes. If you advance the hands, those chimes will still play 15, 30, and 45 minutes after the "click", but will be resynchronized with the hands at the next "on the hour" click.
