Mmm I don’t have a left hand sliding issue. My wrist (the inside part when you’re looking at the palm of your hand) blocks it from sliding against the where the neck joins the fiddle body. I have a little callus there.

@@RRRK318 I’m not sure I understand what you are asking. There are no notes that require you to put your finger down on that 1st string. It’s just used as a drone

thank you! so you use 1st string (naturally E string) by drone and not be used right? actually, i'm agonizing how do i press Fa on E string. I can't reach my finger for 1st string Fa because my hand is pushed inward. so is it your mean do not use E string?

@@RRRK318 the fiddle is tuned AEAC# from low string to high string. All of tune is played on the middle 2 strings E and A.

For the first half of the tune I use my pinky finger on the A string for only one note of the melody, the note is E. The second half of the tune hits that same note E near the end of the phrase and I use my pinky finger there too. If you have trouble reaching that note, try playing the 3rd and the 2nd string together you can slide with your pinky on the 2nd string until you hit that E note using the 3rd string to help guide your ear. You should hear the notes match, eventually your body remembers where the note is.

I don’t know much about it, unfortunately the label was lost before I came to own it. Doing some research of my own research it’s probably a copy of a Stainer. These we’re pumped out by factory’s in late 1800s in what is now the Czech Republic. It has got the thickest neck I’ve ever felt on a fiddle, which feel more ergonomic for my hands.
