I just wanted to say to participants in this video I appreciate your sincere comments about a profession in Physiatrisy. It is a new site-specialityto the medical community and one that I plan to consult with within the next 20 days. Long story short I enroll in a class at a medical school to learn about my body. Everything that I learned I hear in your voices. I like that energy and compassion to help others seeking care with your information, one of my professors called it the 89/20 Rule you are the 20 and I am the 89. When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Thank you.

I chose Physiatry as a patient because two G.P.s, three chiropractors, two physical therapy clinics and three years of home exercise and stretching programs resulted in worse pain. Physiatrist: "I can't see anything wrong on your x-rays and MRI. Have you considered physical therapy?" No wonder people succumb to addictions, or just check out altogether. The science of pain relief is still in the dark ages. What now, medicine? Everyone's hooked on pain killers (which I refuse to take except NSAIDs) and that's a problem. Why can't science develop a way to see pain and stop it? EDIT: That down-vote is not mine.

Horrible doctor with bad reviews. Sometimes doctors forget about customer service and bedside manner which can be more important (based on research of malpractice cases) to patients than the actual quality of care. However, he has complaints of poor care and intensified pain, meaning he didn’t help the patient and made them worse. Reviews speak volumes. Do your homework before selecting a doctor to put a needle in your spine!

I trained with Dr Alleva in Chicago. He was always bright, well-spoken, and kind to his patients and peers. I'm glad to see that he continues to provide exceptional care to this day. I would have no reservations referring any patient to Dr. Alleva; I'd refer my own mother to him. He is the best of the best. If he ever takes up disc golf, which is how I spend my days now, I'd love to chuck some plastic and pick his brain.
