Sydney Tram Delivery
Просмотров 10 тыс.11 лет назад
The first of Sydney's newest trams gets delivered. Urbos 2 unit number 1 gets delivered from the docks at Port Kembla tonight straight on to Sydney's light rail network. Of interest is, once the truck has gotten to this point the prime mover simply becomes a power source. The trailer has a second joint near the hitch that is unlocked allowing it to move freely like a dog trailer. The front and ...

A video of the full trip on the sydney monorail in its final days before it is removed on the 30th of June 2013
Sydney is becoming the most boring city in Australia, they are taking away all the good stuff They took dreamwork away and the iconic monorail, now the city is congested with cars buses and dumb light rail Go to Melbourne, there trams system shit all over sydneys , and Sydney drivers get paid less

It is just too noisy. The view are amazing, never rode it at night before.
Where I grew up, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in the United States, labor strikes in the 1960s doomed the streetcar system. People relied on the streetcars to get them to work everyday. When that trust was broken, people bought automobiles and built garages. Retailers left downtown, and employers left the city. Transit drivers were already some of the best paying jobs in the city.
THIS IS AUSTRALIA W8ER
This looks hilarious. Love laughin' at the Aussies...
What is the purpose of the people with clipboards ?
What is the purpose of the people with clipboards standing on the street ?
A pretty good and no brainer Answer would be that the clipboard has which Tram to go out first, or something involved with the trams as they are the people letting the trams out
👍. Interesting.
I wish the monorail stayed in Sydney forever it’s a very nice ride
I know they are more conveyancing and efficient than the Light Rail. Sydney's very first new Convention and Inner West Light Rail which officially opened on the 27th March 2014 has had a lot of impact and caused a big headache for small businesses and drivers, and it's also slow and dangerous. The Monorails were more sustainable and efficient because it was in the sky not on the roads.
Your wish won't work. Sydney Monorail is unpopular because low ridership, difficult maintenance, and trouble switches.
I really like the Sydney monorail it's very good
I feel like Hobart would be a better home for the monorail as they don’t have much transport, only buses.
Amazing these streetcars ❗❗❗From Australia 👌I see sometimes Combino from Siemens Mobility ❓ Real ❗I know these trains from my Düsseldorf ! The ,, Rheinbahn'' has many trains from Siemens Mobility ( other Versions from the,, Combino'' 40m Version name ,,NF10''

how thoughtful to have a tram strike outside of peak hour, acknowledging it’s integrity to the people of melbourne
I know the strike was for a fair enough reason, but as a Bus Driver, I do not envy the inevitable abuse Karen's will level on the trammies
Monorails are a scam
In fact only heavy trains models on monorails had survived, not this light version.
Springfield in The Simpsons had a monorail and that too was a disaster🤣
what was the reason for this strike?
Only such a beautiful and intelligent designed Monorail system will be a solution in Russia for Moscows, Rostovs, Novosibirsk.or Sochis population explosion in future. subways alone will not handle Russias coming population explosion. the cities and urban areas are growing already very fast. it looks in Sydney much better than in many Asian countries. optical it really fits to the city...wow. its really well done.
...until they got rid of them for the Urbos 3.
i hope they bring it back
The NSW GOV. Should bring back the monorail and lay it out on the same route to followed through the city, pyrmont and darling harbour
I really like the Sydney monorail. The Sydney monorail is more than a billion times way better than the new Sydney CBD and South East Light Rail
@@robertoben9412 yeah agree
@@patricknand2434Do you prefer CityRail or Sydney Trains
@@robertoben9412 Sydney trains seems to be run a bit better but i loved the city rail logo
y did the monorail close down?
Yes
It shut down permanently on the 30th of June 2013
Because the Mayor decided for 25 years that it was the most offensive structure since the Cahill Expressway cut off Sydney Harbour. That’s next…
Dear NSW Transport Minister, Trams for Sydney??? What a fantastic idea! TRAMS AND PEDESTRIANS ARE A GREAT MIX! In my view, it is the right way to go for the future of Sydney's public transport. Would you please concentrate on extension and reliability of the light rail network and do not waste taxpayers money on WestConnex. Regards, Mike
Dear NSW Transport Minister, Trams for Sydney??? What a preposterous idea! TRAMS AND PEDESTRIANS DO NOT MIX! In my view, it is not the right way to go for future of Sydney's public transport. Would you please concentrate on extension and reliability of underground network and do not waste tax payers’ money. Regards, Bozena Hochwallner
Really?? Have you been to Melbourne and seen how successful Melbournes Tram and Light Rail network is? If not, maybe you should!
topher1976au Really!!! I have been to Melbourne and saw how successful Melbourne’s Trams are. In fact I was brought up in a city where trams formed a major transport system. I am not against trams! Not at all! However, there is a substantial difference in transport systems between Melbourne and Sydney. Melbourne transport is based on trams, streets are planned accordingly etc. Proposed Sydney Tram is ‘one-off’, jammed into the very busy George Street. The idea is totally out of keeping with the existing transport system.
Am I the only one who just found out about this?!
no
Already started testing a few weeks ago!
I find it bizarre that a city would remove a functioning monorail. Were there major technical issues with it? If they took a look at Edinburgh's disasterous tram project they'd realise how valuable an existing system is.
bigclivedotcom it cost more to operate than they got revenue from it
bigclivedotcom The units were at the end of their design life and required replacement. Similarly wiring and power supply needed rebuilding.
It was replaced by trams and metro. The monorail was reaching the end of life.
The monorail was too advanced for the idiots back then. Now Sydney is the city equivalent to sliced bread
Sad part, Sydney monorail is no longer in service an has been decommissioned. :'(
DAMN! IT TAKES AGES TO BUILD SOMETHING LIKE THAT i HATE SYDNEY ALWAYS SMASHING SOMETHING NICE DOWN FOR THEE SAKE OF SOME CORPORATE BUILDING OR CASINO. THAT'S WHAT THEY DID WITH OUR TRAMS THAT WE HAD INTO THE CITY IN THE 60S.. ALL GONE SAVE FOR A LITTLE TRAM EXCURSION TO REMIND US OF WHAT WE COULD HAVE HAD.
I totally agree ;-;
@ that took you 8 years to say that? Perhaps I should do some more.
were the windows open at the back of the monorail
New tram routes in Sydney (Monorail? R.I.P. ::::(((( ) I must come back in this city. (My Hostel was near Rozelle Depot in Glebe Point road...but I didn't know...!!!!). They should be the same CAF Urbos of Belgrade (in Belgrade are narrow gauge)... thees Spanish are selling trams & trains everywhere!!!! Included metro trains of my city (Rome) Ok,....keep me informed! A Big Chow!!!
Great video! Can't wait until the brand new Urbos 3s arrive !
What time was this do you remember?
