I vividly remember seeing this for the first time in 2006. it was one the first videos I watched on RUclips. and I could NOT stop rewatching it. I remember feeling this was one of the most beautiful things I'd seen/heard. still do!
Mike Haber Oh yes I can't wait till November 5th. I've got my tickets. 6th row center orchestra at the national. I may wet my pants! This will be my first in person Idina performance and since I missed the original Rent cast by about a year, I am so looking forward to Idina and Anthony on stage again. RENT was life changing when I heard the album while doing a tech day on a production of Godspell in "95. When I heard it I thought this is the best thing I've heard. And Idina stood out the most.
This is just so raw. It's not perfect but it doesn't matter. The emotions that come through her voice are just chilling. She has earned and deserved the title of diva.
This really shows the complexities of Idina's voice. It's really kind of amazing. Jonathon Larson didn't make one mistake in any of the casting choices. He created stars. Idina's shines the brightest.
ahh this gives me the chills! Idina is soo amazing!! what other singer can sing to only a guitar and sound so beautiful and powerful and just amaze everybody that listens to it!! Idina you rock gal!!! :D xox
This song is so amazing...Its funny when I first heard this song the person I immediately thought of was Elphaba from Wicked...This song should be Elphaba's anthem and its just funny that the creater of Elphaba is singing this song! I love Idina! Hope to get to meet her at the Tonys! *fingers Crossed* lol
I'm a relatively new fan of Idina and have not yet been lucky enough to see her live, but seeing this performance makes me want to all the more. This is the first time I've heard that song and her performance here has completely blown me away; it's one of the most passionate and emotional performances I've ever seen and she sounds fantastic! Just incredible, definitely favourited! Does anyone know when this was?
Yes, anytime you sing or act on stage you must be aware of your movements. I am completely aware of this. I am a second year Theatre stream University student. However, this is meant for the sole purpose of being a song. Not musical theatre. Her movements were not distracting. That's the main issue. When movements become distracting, then it becomes a problem, however, what you are seeing is not distraction. You are seeing passion sir. The type of passion that makes performances worth watching.
Why am I only seeing this now??

Agreed. Just like everyone is entitled to their opinion, my opinion is to disagree with yours. You should not be offended by that.

LiveandLoveLife you are aware that she is not acting a role here correct? She is singing a song, as a singer.
LOL. She's all emotional toward the end of the song and then when she's done, "Well, how'd you guys like it? :)" *bounce away*
Movin n groovin around means she's into the song. :D Go Idina
