Thank you for the interesting information, It's very important to identify indicators on adaptation to climate change to be sure that we will not repeat the previous and not clear experience with hundreds and thousands of indicators on sustainable development, green economy, etc. Two main proposals: 1) nature-based (ecosystem-based) adaptation is the key approach (not national and sectoral adaptation) -with quantitative goals and indicators on restoration of natural ecosystems as a base for national and sectoral goals; 2) local communities and stakeholders should be main decision-makers in climate change adaptation plans via water basin councils. The world has a very effective internet network All of these meetings can be held “online” Many more useful interventions could be presented. There wouldn't be so many carbon emissions If it's just for tourism, I agree. But the costs will be borne by interested parties

The myth of climate change induced wildfires: Anybody in forestry will tell you that forest fires are a natural and beneficial part of nature. Data proves that 90% of all wildfires are caused by humans. Arson, cigarettes, errant campfires, power lines, ATVs, 4x4s, dirt bikes and automobiles. In 1850 the entire population of the state of California was 93,000. Only 173 years later and today it's 40 million. It doubled since 1980. Thats a 43,000% increase in human population levels from 1850. A 43,000% increase in people - the cause of 90% of all fires. The last several record-breaking fires were caused by power lines. In 1850 there were no such things as power lines, ATVs, 4x4s, dirt bikes or automobiles. There were no gas stations and there were no tanker trucks roaming all over California. A major cause of human induced fires that occur today didn't even exist. 6 million people go camping in California on an annual basis. Thats a 7,000% increase in just campers alone, from the entire population in 1850. California is dirt bike, ATV and 4x4 heaven. Over the last couple of years dirt bike sales are up over 50% across the US. Fires start from the heat of tail pipes and gas and oil leaks. American burn acreage data shows a dramatic and consistent decline over the last 75 years, even with rising populations. That's because in 1850 they used to put fires out with a bucket brigade. Today we use vastly improved forest management and modern technology including, ironically, fossil fuel powered helicopters and jet aircraft that dump, ironically, fossil fuel based fire retardants onto the fires. Data from Canada's Ministry of Natural Resources clearly shows forest fire decline over the last 43 years. That's as far back as the graph goes. Why are there no wildfires all across Africa? 200 Years ago, Africa was hotter and drier than Europe and North America are today. Africa should have been ablaze for the last 200 years. How is it possible that Alberta and Canada's North West Territories are alight with forest fires today, supposedly due to warming, when the average temperature of Alberta hasn't even reached the average temps of California that existed in the 1850's before the industrial revolution and before California had a fire problem? Anybody who thinks that the planet catches fire due to an average global temp rise of 1C over 200 years truly needs to understand objectivity.
