This year I could only find one Hoguera in the Benidorm area, probably due to the lack of money available due to the "crisis". The word "Hoguera" means bonfire or blaze and the models shown here will become a bonfire on the night of the 24th of June.

Las Fallas literally means "the fires" in Valencian. The focus of the March fiesta is the creation and destruction of ninots ("puppets" or "dolls"), which are huge cardboard, wood, paper-machè and plaster statues usually depicting bawdy, satirical scenes and current events. There are three Fallas in Benidorm: Els Tolls, Centro and Rincon de Loix.

Benidorm Three Kings Parade on the 5th of January 2012. A colourful and noisy post-Christmas parade of fantastic Floats, People, Animals and Blow-up cars, with music, comedy and plenty of sweet-throwing as the Three Kings make their way through Benidorm old town to give presents to the children in the town square.
