Church is where Jesus, the Man full of life, takes us on as apprentices of life itself; it is where we learn to live; where we can face all the mess of our past, where support one another in all the challenges of the present, and where we can encourage one another into the great hope that God sets in our future.
Church is the only place where human life can fully flourish, where everybody can fit in, where we can be free of fear, guilt, shame, and darkness.
Church is where we can make sense of everything; where all the rich variety of life can be finally understood and enjoyed.
At St Crispin's, we teach and explore the depth and riches of Jesus’ way of life, shown in the Bible, drawing deeper into his life and walking together as we follow and obey him

Thanks for this, it was excellent. Why was Origen called a heretic if not for his universalist beliefs? The Orthodox don’t recognise him as a saint as a consequence.
There are various accusations made about Origen - but some of them actually contradict one another! For example, he was condemned both for rejecting the physical form of God - and for believing in the physical form of God! Origen is such a powerful and complicated character.

Hey everyone, I said see ou next week but I meant next month! We have finished the current bible school show term, and the next term will start in a few months. But we will see you next month for our Live Q&A!
Theology must not begin with our own god - whether a "little" idol or a "big" philosophical monad. No! All these gods of human hand or head must be left behind as we come to the only God who has actually shown up: the LORD Jesus Christ, sent from His Father in the power of the Spirit. Athanasius - unless a system starts with Jesus, it will never be able to handle Him.
Church history must be studied as if the Living God of the Bible is still alive and active - as if the Church that we read about in the Bible is still open for business - as if the kind of Church history that is shown to us in the Bible is still going on.
Three steps for Bible study: 1. It's all about Jesus - as the Bible itself tells us. 2. It's for everybody - as the Bible itself tells us. 3. It's one big story - all the books are telling the SAME big story of Jesus, no matter when or where they were written.
