I would say this band and Dystopia reach a similar place in their sound but they both approach it from a different starting point. When I hear Sea of Deprivation I hear influence from things like Entombed. Asphyx, Bolt Thrower, and even some grindcore. I don't hear influences like this in Dystopia so much, even in their earlier stuff or even Carcinogen. I hear metal for sure but also a lot more punk and the heavier stuff at times reminds me more of power violence stuff than grindcore with Dystopia. Anyway at the end of the day who cares it's all good anyway just enjoy the music.

One of those early 2000's NYC bands that never reached breakout success. Very intense and moody occultic metal. I quit my crappy job a day early, then saw their set at a bar by the Williamsburg Bridge -- it was epic!

I remember hearing a live session from these lot on the radio One Rock Show with good old Mary-Anne Hobbs (I'll never not hear that in a geordie accent). It completely knocked me for six. Love it.
