Love you, Sayaka
Love you, Sayaka
すてきです。
That's it? I really don't know what Saionji's problem is then...
pfft yeah
I'm helping to put on an international talent show, and one girl said she is too shy to do this dance alone. Let's see if this gaijin can learn this dance in 3 days! (@.@)
I first saw this when I was a boy in Japan and I loved it then - so long ago.
Very elegant lady! Thanks for demonstrating tanko bushi!
@BebeYnez Strange. I do not learn that one. (It's not like I can, since I do not live in Japan, LOL) but it seemed to be sloppy even for me.
i loled at the end frame... it's so messy, kinda looks like a drunken fk in a kimono...
um is that for real?
@BebeYnez what school do you go to?
@liv119 although yes, it was quickly done and didnt look like the neatest obi knot ever, it is a recognised obi musubi (knot) the part hanging out is actually quite fashionable
....shit i fail at tying an obi. i've been trying for months and its as simple as that....i fail
@Haldir1970 i found it very useful on the contary because i could see how easy it was to screw up but also how simple it would be to fix it with a little extra time. it was done poorly but for a beginner its just enough, although i do enjoy this debate not going to lie, its nice to be able to speak an opinion honestly without disrespect so thank you for taking it seriously ^^ i appreciate it
@SunaKokaru Maybe it was done quickly to emphasize the ease of tying the obi, but it was VERY sloppy, and not just the obi but the fold of the kimono at the back was also very, very badly done. No point in showing how to do something if it is not done properly.
i think its done fine, it may be messy for the bow it must have been done several times because she did it relatively fast. it was simple and easy to see and understand. it did seem kind of rushed but it was still well thought out enough for us to understand. if you don't appreciate it perhaps you should look onto another video. hate comments are appreciated for anything. it may have been sloppy but theres no need to insult others about it
Folks can just order/download the song from Amazon - Club Nisei Orchestra - Club Nisei - Japanese Music of Hawaii - "Tanko Bushi". The album also has various periodic Pop and Enka music from the 40-50s. For future reference: the best Enka singer is Misora Hibari "Queen of Enka", check the numerous videos on RUclips, too.
geeze ppl, be nice
I got a book called "Easy Japanese Cookbook" by Emi Kazuko and there was a music CD in there with Tanko Bushi as one of the songs. I don't know if all the books would have the CD but you try looking for it..if you want to do Japanese dances and cooking (at the same time! :). Just kidding.
I think if you try it and get it right for the most part it has your own style. I did the shading eyes movement left hand first then right and I do the ending steps a bit different but I think if you practice enough you'll get it. Just have fun at first; that's what I did, then got the basics down :)
Neat. ^_^ This is pretty helpful. She does it very fast and I think she might have been rushed... but it was very good at showing the basics of how to tie an obi. I'm not surprised that she knew how to do it since she IS Japanese, but that's just another point for the video. Thanks for sharing!
A yukata is a type of kimono.
Come on out, Obon Odori is at 1pm in SF today!!!
I'll say that, yes, it looks messy. but this is one of the best videos I've seen where you can clearly see what is being done. I've seen lots of videos where the finished bow is beautiful, but I couldn't follow how it was done (because it wasn't shown clearly.)
Oh man... It's so weird to see Hanayagi Sensei on RUclips... xD
thank you... you dont want the blind leading the blind... therefore i wouldnt want a sloopy teacher telling me im doing it wrong if shes doing it wrong too...
why, im a guy i dont need to know how to tie an obi but i know that this particular obi is a disgrace to the japanese culture. yes ill admit that my comment was a bit out of line but calling me disgusting doesnt dismiss the fact that that abomination of a beautiful art was video taped and posted. and clearly by all of the other comments posted i was not the only one to think it was poorly executed. so you might want to revise your statement because in the end even though i was a jerk im right.
the way we do it is we start digging the dirt when the words start
Technically it is correct, it's just sloppily done; it's lopsided, uneven and looks like she was very haphazard about it. You may say that she can do it better, but I'm of the opinion that if you're going to be posting an educational video you want to do your best so that you set the best example.
q feo kedo!!
Try contacting the BCA Buddhist Bookstore or Hongwanji Place (you can google the names) they usually have CDs in stock of traditional Bon Odori songs.
I want the songs... i looove bon odori so much, where can i find the songs that are usually danced?
um.. that doesnt quite look right...
that shit was disgusting... i wanted to throw up... that obi was about as sloppy as britney spears...
I live in Japan and have been taught by professionals how to tie an obi (several differnt ones.) I don't have a good camera to record myself doing it so unfortunately at the time I can't post a better one. I just think that people should know if they want to learn how to properly tie the obi, this isn't the best video to watch. So excuse me for using my right of free speach to make a comment.
I have to admit, it`s not her best, but yet it`s not her worst. You shouldn`t say anything either unless you can record yourself doing one better than that. I mean, seriously. Yeah, Sensei did it better when it was for performances, but at least she`s able to do it probably better than you. So I`m going to wait for you to post a video response proving me wrong.
OMG! It`s Hanayagi Sensei! She scared me so much. But she was a really good teacher. She`s been teaching for over 50 years. I was only her student for about 6 years before I quit.
Her dance is perfect!
that looks terrible, your obi doesn't look symetrical!!
wow...that looks a lot easier than i thought it was! is their anyways you could show on how to tie obi in the darari style?
