That is fabulous! Well Done! If you go to Spain try to head to Benalmadena, Malaga in the winter. It is usually so warm and you can find many free places to camp. It has a fabulous beach, gorgeous marina, beautiful park (Paloma). I have spent the last 2 winters there. Have fun! x

I was impressed with your pronunciations of place names. most Vloggers make a right dogs dinner of them. hopefully you will return and catch up on all the attractions that you missed. 2 good dates to try and visit on are ... 9th of May, which is our Liberation Day from German Occupation. where we have a big party with food stalls and lots of live music and dancing. the other date is the 9th to the 11th of August for the Battle of Flowers. this is a carnival of floats covered in flowers made by different organizations and schools. there is a day parade and a night time one with fireworks. there is also a fun fair set up for that week too.

FYI: for good, wholesome, tasteful products I go to my local french shops, markets or straight to the farm... It's the naughty "foute" products I miss most! And mature Dutch cheese! Everything can be bought on the internet nowadays, which is great! But when visiting friends and family in the Netherlands, I definitely need to go to the supermarket, simply out of nostalgia 😁

Voor Nederlandse stukken kaas kun je ook even bij de Lidl in Frankrijk kijken. Net 10 weken Frankrijk er op zitten.. aan Nederlandse kaas geen gebrek.. zelfs Oude Kaas.

Lekker even met de auto naar Nederland om inkopen te doen. Ik moet ze in de koffer meenemen naar China. Vlieg dan via Korea naar de eindbestemming in China zodat er bijna nooit koffer controle is.

Voor die bakjes kattekots/salades en die bagger van silvo ( meest zout) en honig hoef je echt niet terug te komen. Koken met echte kruiden/specerijen kan zo moeilijk niet zijn in la douce France.

We use dutch cheese slicers in my family as we emigrated to Canada when I was a child. My son will study in Utrecht in September and I asked him if he wanted to bring our cheese slicer so he would feel at home. Hahahaha

The cheese slicer (ostehøvel in Norwegian, osthyvel in Swedish) is a Norwegian invention. Every household in Norway and Sweden have at least one. I have two. A plastic bag over the saddle is common here in Sweden, too.

That is no road trip back to Nederland. 😉 We drive from Galicia, Spain to near Rotterdam. That is not so far east as you go. We hate the toll roads. We too costly and boring. Some have to be taken, like Irun and then French A63 north. We do not think that a person can loose the traits of the country you have been brought up in. Groetjes

Basically, Holland is a small country in West Europe but it's so amazing, special and powerful one especially in Economy, Technology and Sport. I speak English, German, Dutch, Javanese and Indonesian in daily life. Why Dutch language ? Because of our country Indonesia is one of Dutch colony in South East Asia. So Dutch is well known here. As France, UK, Germany and Italy, our country Indonesia is a member of G20 too. Ik heb geen slechte ervaringen met de mensen hier in (.......). Nederlandse planten bevatten veel THC. Ik heb vroeger veel buitenlanders de weg gewezen naar een. coffeeshop. Meestal jonge buitenlanders. Toen ik in Nederland woonde wist ik wel dat veel mensen een kamertje hadden met het spul om wat bij te verdienen. Sommige bedrijven op een industrieterrein hadden verborgen ruimte voor 😮. Verhuur nooit een huis aan onbekenden als je bv een jaar weggaat.

Drinking coffee after dinner used to be rather standard in the Netherlands. I never realized it might have become less customary. The first thing I think about related to France are those disgusting "standing toilets". Really traumatizing. I know, people will go blah blah blah how much healthier they are, or whatever. But it's the single reason for which I will never visit France any more. Now I'm over 50 I even won't be able to use them. I can't squat any more.

Not sure because my parents also drink coffee after dinner but can't remember if they always did this or since I started to cook for them regularly .... Anyway.... I'm English and living in Brittany. The locals dont care much for the Dutch tourists. They arrive with all their food and spend as little as possible when they are here. Typically camp because its cheap. A Dutch guy used to go to my shooting club and was always clashing with the guy who managed it. It got bad. I told him he was our Dutch Uncle and not to take him seriously .... He just thinks he knows more about everything than anyone else. That made Roger laugh and he didnt take Jan seriously after that.

As a "Hollander" from Haarlem, my heart bled when you said that Amsterdam could be called the capital of Holland. No, the capital of North-Holland is Haarlem and the capital of South-Holland is The Hague. Which is also the seat of government (and a lot of international courts and organisations). Amsterdam is ONLY officially the capital because the coronation of the King/Queen takes place there. De facto The Hague is where all the embassies are.
