This AI solved this puzzle in 96 moves. Sometimes I solve these things in under 30 moves by seeing ahead and predicting things. If the process for my solution method was sped up, then it would be just under 1/3 the length of this video. The secret is to get and maintain runs of several numbers in the outer top and left-hand side, then maintain those runs together by moving the runs as though they were one block that stays together in the order and can be moved back from where it came. I can go back to the exact same under 30 move puzzle, then completely blow it and also do about 100 moves to solve it again. In those situations, I break my own rules of NOT keeping the runs of ordered squares intact, thereby mixing the order by inserting something that doesn't belong and making matters worse instead of better. There are videos on the general strategies of doing these sliding puzzles even to larger sizes like 4x4, 5x5, and so on. Once part of the puzzle is solved, that part you should NOT revisit and screw up. The methods are short term goal-based, such as getting the top row done first, but if you can do some of this stuff in your head, the puzzles solve themselves easily.

To the developers: the Wordle team no longer refer to the original answer list. They use a larger set of about 3200 words to choose answers from. This set does include almost all - but not all - words in the original list. It would be stupendous if you could give your Bot a similar size set of common words to play with. Your list won't be exactly the same as theirs (they keep editing it anyway) but shouldn't be far off as they use the same criteria. I think that would be a lot better than sticking to a smaller, old list and adding "new" words like beaut one at a time when they are already past answers at that stage

Looks like your word list includes the six words that were removed from the original answer list of 2315 (so not likely to be answers anytime soon): agora,fibre,lynch,pupal,slave,wench
