      @@nickvtguitar546 Not saying they aren’t enough, but if it’s just that with a super dumbed-down approach then it’s just uninteresting. Deicide has done this better on other albums, mainly self-titled and Once Upon the Cross

    • @planetsabbath
      @planetsabbath Месяц назад

      @@nickvtguitar546 Basically, if you don’t do cool stuff with riffs and just rely on that, then it’s pretty weak tbh. And there’s plenty of death metal bands that know that riffs aren’t the sole purpose of the song, or at the very least throw in some cool scales or whatnot. Gore bands like Carcass and Exhumed do this masterfully, and newer bands such as Sanguisugabogg and 200 Stab Wounds excel at this style as well. Beyond gore, there’s a reason albums like Like An Ever Flowing Stream, Altars of Madness, Symbolic and/or Human, and Left Hand Path are considered DM masterpieces. All of them have brutal and aggressive riffs, sure, but the key here is dynamics, which all these albums possess (go listen to the title track from Left Hand Path and tell me I’m wrong) and which Banished By Sin does not.

Mikaels growls still for me prove to be the very best in the business and as always his clean vocals are divine. The compositions are legendary. I believe that the songs titles are not just a reference to classical music but the symbol before the numbers if im not mistaken is the symbol for paragraph not sure if you mentioned that or not and maybe i missed it but thought id mention it just in case. I find the concept of this record really damn cool.

    Absolutely blew my fuckin mind. Did not expect them to come back after so long and deliver something of this quality with this much substance and soul to it...... But them again its the freaking Cure so i should not be so suprised. Been a fan for 30 years. Disintegration is not only The Cures masterpiece but one of the best records ever produced period imho... Having said that SOALW is truly right up there in my top Cure albums its a masterpiece of its own. Has replaced Bloodflowers(imo its sister record) as my number 3 after Disintegration and Wish. What a time to be a Cure fan. And to think Robert said this was one of 3 albums they have finished and plan to release. 16 years has been a long wait but it was worth it.

  • @professormushroom5456

    Ive fallen in love with the cure over the last 4 years, theyve become a lifeline for me. Disintegration is without a doubt my favourite album (and track) and when comparisons were being made before the release of SOALW i was very excited. Lets just say they did not disappoint. People expecting happy, exciting cure may not be so impressed, but those who were after what the cure does best, creating an album completely different to the rest, with songs unique to one another yet with an underlying theme. I absolutely love it, and i can see this becoming my favourite album, and potentially nothing is forever becoming my new favourite track! Unlike other old bands thatve continued on, the cure has kept their exceptional quality of their vocals and music (which a lot of people fail to enjoy as part of it, they were hoping for more vocals as far as i can tell)!

    8 out of 10 would be 4 out of 5, not 3.5. Other than that, it is interesting to hear the Younger Gens opinions on Hard Rock Bands. As everyone is entitled to their own opinion as long as they are not just deliberately bashing someone for sport or publicity, and he seems to be honestly expressing his opinion without such intent. I have to completely disagree about the Perfect Strangers album, as most of us that grew up listening to Purple loved the Mark 2 lineup of the band, and that was what reformed for that album. It was not Mark 1 or early Pre-Purple chaos, and it was not any of the fake subsequent versions of Purple later on as they started to cycle through endless new members and two singers with Hughes and Coverdale. Ritchie had another one of his meltdowns and left to form Rainbow with Ronnie James Dio and eventually Glover joined Rainbow too. So it was amazing when out of nowhere, after everyone was in fairly successful new bands or in new careers after a few years apart, that the Mark II Lineup got back together for the Perfect Strangers album. The record went Platinum fairly quickly, it was amazing to hear that talented group of Musicians together again as if they had not lost a step. Sadly that only lasted a few years before Blackmore had to keep screwing with Ian Gillian and Gillian was fired. Purple interviewed dozens of singers, before they settled on Joe Lynn Turner who performed with Rainbow for a while when Dio left. When they did the one album together and the tour, the record company insisted on bringing back Ian Gillian on vocals for the bands 25th Anniversary. Gillian upset everyone with that album because they had already written and arranged several songs with Turner, but Gillian's Vocals are different and he changed most of it. After that Blackmore had his infamous Eddie Van Halen-esque meltdown and left the band for good this time. Joe Satriani came in to finish the two tours, and was asked to join, but he had contractual obligations already. Thankfully Purple was able to get Steve Morse from the Dixie Dregs and Kansas to come in and become an integral part of the band for almost the next 30 years. When Morse left for a couple of reasons, but primarily his wife's health, and because he played with dozens of other bands during those years as well. So it was of no surprise that Purple would want to make a New Album when they finally picked another Guitarist, Simon McBride, since they already had contractual obligations for another album and tour. Of course a New Guitarist would be injecting some Fresh Stylings and Exciting New Energy, and the album is a Solid Release.
