Gastric Bypass official post op video. How I am feeling and how things went!
Im getting ready to take this journey myself, my first apt with the weight loss surgery doc is the 26th, meeting with the bariatrics doctor. Nervous! I guess I still have a short wait until I can say, "last day in this body!" (I think by Christmas will be my surgery date) Watching your videos have helped me feel more ready for this! Congrats on your success so far!
good to see you sara, I think you have done amazing and look very healthy and pretty....hang in there...I think our bodies know when to stop when they are suppose to....god bless
great loss. I can see it in your face.
great loss sara...hope ya feel better...i have asthma and i relate to all that....take care of you....god bless
You're doing awesome!
great news....240 by ur dead line...u r doing really good....god bless
Ick, such a horrible feeling drinking those haha. I am glad I am not the only one. I drink a lot of skim milk, at least 20 oz a day. I eat a lot of cheese, and lean meats. I have found that I can tolerate meats as long as they are tender and I chew them well. I eat cottage cheese, and a lot of cooked vegitables actually. Most of my protein comes from the milk, cheese, and meats tho. I hope this helps :)
Protein shakes upset my stomach as well! What are some foods you are eating to get the protein in?
good to hear...god bless
Thank you for the comments everyone! They keep me in check! And I appreciate that!
Oh I am slowing down no worries! I realized that I want to stay on vacation and not end up in the hospital!
I was nervous too, but it is honestly like tasting real food again! It is soooo nice! You will do great!
I cut back no worries! Thank you for the support!
I am glad I am not the only one. haha. I cut back big time, trust me! I realized that I am only a few weeks post op and I am supposed to be recovering. Just hard when I feel normal! ahaha
You're doing great! I'm so happy for you. :)
Wow 33 lbs. That's awesome - you are looking great - careful running up hill or even walking up hill - you really should wait on the inclines til your at least 2 months out - in my opinion. Don't worry about the shakes so long as you get your protein in and enough of it you should be fine. TFS Hugs, Lourdes
everything sounds great....keep on keeping on...god bless
Your doing awesome hun and as long as your getting your protein in that is all that matters....and please remember to take it easy with the physical activity I have seen other girls herniate themselves =)
OMG girl you are brave - enjoy your vacation but be careful - you look good and sound great. I had my surgery on 9/10 and today was my first day back at work - omg I got tired and my job is sedentary - I wish I had more time for recovery like you. I start puree on Thursday. I was told to use condiments to moisten food - low fat mayo, etc. I'm kind of nervous about eating again - I just hope I don't get sick. Hugs, Lourdes
be very careful sarah....u don't wana end up in the er and in pain ...u can still enjoy ur vacation and still have fun...hope ur surgeon dont find out....lol... amen keep on chugging...u can do it....god bless.
I am glad your enjoying yourself just please be careful and your not the only one not drinking your protein shakes I can't keep any of mine down they all make me nausea's but I think your doing great all and all =)
sounds like ur doing great and just relax girll....it is all good...god bless
oops! *proud
Hurray! lose that weight! you go girl! so pround of you :-)
You're doing so awesome! I'm so happy for you. I too am excited for real food. YAYYY!
Close but not fully. I get tired really easily, and physically I am still healing so I can't do near what I use to. But one day at a time. I know there are a few girls that had the surgery the same day as me and they are dealing with some nausea and pain issues. We are all built different and our bodies all react differently. I am just thankful everything is going somewhat smoothly.
Are you feeling more like your old self now that it's been 10 days? Sure hope so!
Oh and thank you for the good luck!
Thank you for the compliment! I don't see it haha but thank you! I started driving about a week after surgery. You have to be off the pain meds obviously, but it was still a little painful. I have a truck which helped getting in and out, and I had to move the seat closer so I wasn't stretched out haha. I wasn't driving far, and I stayed off the highway for a few days until I felt comfortable again.
I live in a climate that gets about 250 inches of snow a year, so it looks nice out but it was about 65 degrees that day lol. But yes, walking outside. I do put ice in my protein shakes occasionally, but I find if I cut up a half a banana and freeze it it works better for me. I slept about 8-10 hours at night and then took a two hour nap mid day. Thank you for watching!
So inspired by you! Are you walking outside in the heat? Can you put ice in your protein drink and whip it in the blender? How much sleep are you requiring during the day on day 4? Keep up the good work!!
Slow but sure! Hang in there lady, it gets better!
You are doing so AWESOME! Much better than me right now, haha. Pain wise I'm good but that nausea man, it's rough. Keep up the good work. You've got this!
I'm very excited to watch your Journey and success!! :) Congrats on having your surgery and changing your life!!
Thanks for the luck - i'm gonna try the Amplified Wheybolic 60 - even though I pretty much like Walmart brand as well I want to try something else since I hear that after surgery sometimes what you liked pre-op doesn't tast the same after post-op. Thanks again. Hugs, Lourdes
I have done that but I guess I should have said I miss the crunch!!!! haha But yes def love the Veggies!!!!!!!!
Oh what a wonderful Birthday Gift to yourself! Congratulations on your new life! I was using all of the Walmart brands pre-op. They were tolerable until you had to sip on them haha. So post-op I switched to Amplified Wheybolic 60 from GNC. It disolves better and isn't so gritty tasting. Best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
wtg keep up the good work
Wow! 17+ pounds is awesome - doesn't matter if it's water, IV fluids, or just plain fat - it's great. You're looking really good today with a lot more energy. Don't miss the veggies - puree them. Looking forward to your weekly up dates. Have a great week. Hugs, Lourdes
Just started watching your video. My surgery is this coming Monday, Sept. 10. My birthday is the 15th so this is my birthday present to myself - new health, fresh start. I wish you much success. BTW what protein shake are you using? Hugs, Lourdes
Ohhh nooo, I am so sorry lady. I hope everything smooths out for you. :( Hugs
You look like you're doing much better than I am! I'm so nauseous that I can't drink/eat anything. It's terrible. Blah. Glad to see you're doing good.
It is getting there! I have never had surgery or been down and out before so it is a challenge!
Thank You!!!!!!!!
You look so good! I am glad that you are feeling alive again!
Good to see that you are home and happy! Congrats!
I am glad that you are doing well and the pain is under control. I hope the rest of recovery goes well! Congrats!
Thank you everyone!
Good luck today! Excited to hear about your surgery! Praying for you. : )
