余花にみとれて(Ena 5 song) English translations & explanations
Both English and Japanese are not my first language so the translation might not be very accurate.
*1 余花 in the song title means the spring flowers that continue blooming vibrantly in summer. It is not very common scenery. I personally feel like Keeno is trying to refer it to 化けの花(Bake no Hana). 化けの花 can have several translations like “distorted flower” or “the flower of monsters” nonetheless all of these translations showed that the “flower”(which is referring to Mizuki) is odd. However in this title, the “flower” is seen from another angle and people admires it. It is like Enana is telling Mizuki that she is unique and beautiful.
*2 東雲(Shinonome) means dawn, this line can metaphorically ...

0:29 The person that appeared after the song title is Mizuki. She is framed behind this frame looking mirror. The reason why i say it is a mirror is because later on in the mv we can see that the “frame” breaks. The mirror is separating Mizuki from everyone else in 25 and is most likely representing Mizuki’s secret (which we now all know about). 0:48 The shadow that appeared when MEIKO was singing the line “I was blinded by the extra shiny dawn” is Ena. Is this another hint saying that this “dawn” is Ena not Mizuki? 0:58 When Mizuki was singing the line “unable to move” her silhouette is hiding in the shadows. However when we look at the other side where there is light, this drawing of a daybreak scene is right in the middle. I feel like this is a sign showing that Ena is trying to reach out for Mizuki. 1:09 See how Ena’s hand is reaching for a drawing with black stain(?) on. This can be an indication of Mizuki covering herself with lies (the black stain) and not showing her true self(the picture under). However when Ena’s hand went too close, the painting break and the cracks made it looked like a broken “mirror”. In 25, mirrors are often related to Mizuki. This may be referring to Ena’s line “Holding you tight but that seemed to have made you felt unease” with the broken “mirror” representing Mizuki’s unease feelings. 1:13 Notice that right after that a broken mirror with a frame appears and Mizuki is inside it. This may represent that although Mizuki’s secrets are spilt out by others but she is still trying to run/hide. 1:26 When Mizuki is singing the line “even when you are pressing on those deep scars on you” the “framed mirrors” dropped in front of Kanade, MEIKO and Mafuyu. And through the frames, parts of Mizuki is revealed. I am not quite sure what this is supposed to mean but I’m guessing it means that Mizuki holds everyone tightly to her heart but is still unable to confess the truth therefore she is still in the framed mirror. 1:33 Then a broken “framed mirror” dropped revealing Mizuki’s smile while MEIKO is singing the line “you were still smiling, weren’t you?” If we refer this back to Mizuki 1’ song idsmile, this may mean that Mizuki still thinks although her secrets were revealed, as long as she stay at a distance from others, she can still be able to smile. 1:37 After that we see Ena’s face. The design of these two shots made it seem like Mizuki is in the frame looking at Ena in this one and Ena looking through the “broken framed mirror” at Mizuki. Looking at this shot with the lyrics, I believe what Ena really hope was for Mizuki to be able to trust that the members of 25 will always accept how she is and that Mizuki does not have to leave a distance with 25 in order to be able to smile. As well as saying that 25 members will always be by her side and that 25 it is always a safe place for her to cry. 1:58 - 2:22 From “although this world where we are breathing in” to “was so beautiful” the mv was made in Mizuki’s perspective. This is evident through the cracks on the “sight” (the circle that moved around revealing Kanade and Mafuyu). This is yet another evidence that Mizuki is still hiding herself behind the “mirror”. 2:36 When Ena sings “we can talk here” we can finally see the full picture of Mizuki. Notice that before this, we have only seen parts of Mizuki or her silhouette. This represents that after Ena found and talked to Mizuki, Mizuki finally decided not to run away but instead to face her problems. (and finally appear back in the real world yessssssss) 2:57 Those two silhouettes when Ena is singing “you are here” is MEIKO in the light and Ena in the dark. Not quite sure what this means if anyone has any idea please tell me (> <) 2:59 Those shoes that appeared right after was Ena’s. It seemed as if she is walking towards someone(which we all know is Mizuki ww). This pairs up with the lyrics after. Then we see Kanade’s hair 3:05 then Mafuyu’s dress 3:08 then MEIKO-san appears~ 3:11 3:19 The “broken framed mirror” appeared again when MEIKO sang “I also hear that…I started running”. 3:36 Ena’s and Mizuki’s hands finally touched. The one with a ring on is Ena’s hand. There was a similar scene in Lower but their hands didn’t touch. They weren’t able to touch each other’s hands because at that time Mizuki was still thinking that she has to keep her secret and keep a distance away from other 25 members in order to protect this relationship that she treasures. However in here she finally realises that it is ok the reveal her real self and that she can maintain the relationships even if she opens her heart and gets closer to her friends. 3:54 When Kanade sings the line “is now so clear to the point that makes my heart hurts” the “black spotted painting” mentioned previously is cleared showing that Mizuki is not hiding anything now. (Yayy~) 4:08 Notice that when MEIKO is singing “that it seems like we have overlapped” the four frames above her are merging together showing that the hearts of 25 members are closer now.
