Non-Pilot here. The first video ends so abruptly that I thought the aircraft just impacted violently into the bank. I was relieved to see the other clips that indicate it was a much better outcome than I first thought. Thanks for sharing this.

Man those accident reports (28 June 2013) don't reflect well on this pilot. Sounds like the guy was quite arrogant.

You can hear the air flow becoming turbulent every time the pilot pulls on the stick.

Boy that first view made me fear the worst, looked like all the momentum stopped in a fraction of a second. Was happy to see from the other views that the energy was dissipated over a much longer interval. Glad to see

Just an update on Dale Hemman... He was involved in another plane crash just months later that took his life as well as 2 others. Very Sad.

I am a remote medic in Alaska and have been a passenger on countless flights to locations all over the state. Just want to give a big "thank you" to you and all the pilots that have transported me safely over the years, through a broad spectrum of weather and hazards. Your skill and professionalism is greatly appreciated.

Well done, pilot. I assume this was on approach. If so, did you consider and reject the thought of trying to slip the plane onto the runway to shed the excess energy?

If you turned at 45 deg angle at that slow of a speed and no engine, you’d probably stall and spin. What you did was perfect.

Personally, I thought you did an amazing job. Another 5 feet would have been nice, but I don’t think flapping your arms out of the window would have helped a lot.

Damn, this is the second video I clicked on where an experienced pilot crashed and walked away but was killed shortly after in another crash. This flying business is for the birds. I'll stick with riding motorcycles!

Looked like he was thinking about turning around which would have been the worst thing to do. Congrats on a great landing. And I noticed your gear was up. Good thing otherwise you would have nailed that berm.
