After I've threaded the beads onto the cords, I have the spectator hold out their hand face up, then I place the beads into their hand. I then instruct them to close their hand and turn their hand over and finish the trick. This method eliminates the possibility of them accidently dropping or exposing the effect.

Not misdirection in the sense you meant it - just a double lift
Whilst im not trying to fool any magicians i can say no double lifts are used in this routine, if you go through it with the cards in your hands you'll see that isn't the technique used.
