Washington Duck Hunting 2024
Went duck hunting with the fellas the morning after a bitter cold night with freezing rain. The hunting was poor but we had a good time and ended up with this cool video.

Where can I get this and what is it called?
@@randallfowler6887 search Google or Amazon for “wrx usb port retention cable”
Thank you!
When hooked into the single usb cord, does that allow apple carplay through the center console usb ports?
@ I assume so, but I don’t know for sure. The head unit version I got only supports wireless CarPlay.
hmm this seemed to stop working for me, specifically shuffle+. The option to use shuffle+ in spotify no longer pops up no matter how many times I try to re-update and reinstall.
Congratulations, Rochelle ! 🙌❤️⚓️
I missed my groups hunt last year because I accidentally put my hatchet into my knee two days before season started just off Mudd Creek Rd. Looking forward to this year.
Wish there was one for phones
I have come across many of these old spots that look like this here is Western Washington.
amazing shots 🙌🏻
Great film, don’t second guess yourself, you executed like a hunter would. You got’em, but elk are fighters and Mother Nature wasn’t going to let him go that day.
getting it
many thanks
Music SUCKS
🎶 "promo sm"
Hey Gavin, i really enjoyed the video, the music was subtle and not overwhelming the audience likes to ear the sound of nature, you kept it real, i just wish all hunting videos would be like that, as for the shot, don't beat yourself over it, as long as you put the time in and prepared months ahead of your trip, things happen that you can't control. keep your head high and don't give up. Cheers
Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Notch that tag brother
I wouldn't on a shoulder hit. I had a bull in '20 I hit good (I thought). Watched it bed and 3 hours later it got up and headed out. A friend sent me a game camera shot of it 2 miles away and 41 hours later (could see the blood streak). 5 days after that I got a game cam video of him chasing a cow (saw the mark) about 3/4 from that. A week later a friend saw him in the same area I hit him and he had 10 cows. If someone wants to notch a tag that is fine but don't think others should tell them how they should hunt. Talked with a game warden several years ago and said there were WAY more lost elk during the rifle season than archery. Basically, he said someone shoots at an animal and it runs off and the shooter looks in the wrong area for blood and gives up
@@kenamatice282 sounds as though u are proud of a wounded elk.. way to be a sportsman
@@markcrawford2896 Not at all. Just saying they are very tough animals and will live through a lot more than people think. Also saw a vid where a biologist was talking about wounds elk live through. Infection from a hit (bullet or arrow) from the last rib forward is very rare where one from the last rib back is almost certain. From a sportsman perspective, I do all I can to find down/wounded game. I have looked for four hours for a dove. I elk I mentioned earlier I looked for 9 hours after it wandered off that day, six the next day, and another six after I got the first picture. I am very comfortable with my ethics in the field. Have even had people that did not allow access to there property allow me to hunt after hearing what I go through to recover game. If it is mortally wounded, then sure you should be done, if not, it is your choice whether to continue or stop hunting but I would NEVER get on my soapbox and try to force my opinion on another hunter
Lol
Found 2 bulls last season that were archery kills..one was 340plus..
Here in Central Oregon over 15 dead bulls were found just in the last 2 weeks of the season. It's out of control.
Threading the needle on that one, looked good at first.
Same name gang! “Gavyn” Great video, well put together. Y’all grind hard! WHAT A SHOT! Love how this video shows the countless amount of miles and time it takes to even hear an elk! Gotta love the elk in our back yards! Maybe we’ll see each other in the woods one day, keep up the good work!
Nice! Not everyday you meet “Gavyn”! Thanks, I appreciate it! You’re right, we were grinding out there, tons of hiking and steep terrain. Worth every minute though! See you in the woods!
Coming from a fellow Oregonian Don’t be too hard on yourself man it’s part of the game unfortunately and will make you better in the future. Keep up the good work and good luck next season
@@Shane-xb2rs Thanks! We appreciate the kind words. Obviously wasn’t the outcome we wanted but we tried our hardest and learned a lot!
You learn something new every season. Keep grinding. @@gavinrouse
Not a good shot. Hind site always hurts.
I don't see the point of subtitles. They're annoying.
Tough hunting in those massive burns it seems, great job tracking one down! I feel pretty spoiled with my regular spots now, especially after seeing all those trucks parked! Keep at it and making new content.
Great filming dude! That country is unreal 🤘
Please don't drink and DRIVE!
Now ld like to fish,in there
Venture beyond the edge and he's on a cliff💀💀
😉
3 years ago I was on my way up the mountain on the backside, from Leavenworth and was a little late on the drive to where I wanted to start my hike in. I was planning on hiking to the top of the ridge SW of the Entiat river valley. About a half a mile from the end of the road I happened to glance to my right and saw a nice 4-point just standing in the trees about 50 yards off of the road. I pulled over, got out, loaded my rifle and walked about 20' into the trees, past the thicker brush by the road and he was still standing there, just looking at me. One shot, through the throat and he dropped in his tracks. I had a 50 yard drag to the truck and didn't have to climb to the top of that nasty, steep ridge, lol.
Haha nice, gotta love when things work out like that.
Congratulations! I hunt that area also but during archery season
If it wasn't for all the predators and west sides this state would be awesome hunting
Awesome video fellas!

No really, this really helped me. And it's not 15 min tutorial thing, I love when tutorials just get to the point right away :D
love you
Great job guys !! 👍 That can be some rugged steep country you were in. I'm from up Omak way , so I'm not far from there. A guy has to be in good shape to do those kinds of hunts. Fantastic clear footage with the cinema work. Great job guys 👍
Hunting the burn. In 2018 my mountain land burned in a forest fire. Now the Mexican poplar and the aspens are thicker than hair on a dogs back. There is a lot of big game there now but very hard to sneak up on.
PERFECT ty
Now you got me searching camping locations near San Diego at 4 am lol
Haha we love that

The mouth-breathers found a hobby.
I’m glad you didn’t find another elk to shoot after you shot at that first cow because you only looked for an hour and gave up and said she will live witch elk are strong but you have 0 idea where you actually hit and it’s all your say and as a Montana resident watching you shoot an elk and barley even look for it before you give up and then go try and find another elk to shoot and possibly do the same thing with is the thing that gives us hunters bad reputation not only that think about the people that live here 1 less elk possibly because you messed up and barley even tried to fix your mistake, we all mess up but try harder to find that elk and get another shot in it. Its gross watching people like you waist our beautiful animals in our home state that some of us work so hard to get just to have you putting holes in elk and walking away like nothing happened just disgusting.
What would have made you happy? Searched the rest of the trip? Notched my tag? (I’m the shooter). I had a feeling from the shot I hit really low. Then finding the arrow which had basically zero blood on it besides the white fletching had super light blood. Then following the tracks for a couple hundred yards (not shown) literally on my hands and knees and finding literally 3 drops of blood which are shown told me the elk wasn’t mortally wounded. I made the decision to keep hunting. I’m not sorry I made that decision.
Why are your top and bottom wheels crooked?
This is soooo helpful! tysm
You’re welcome! Glad I could help!
Nice buck nice video congrats good job
thanks for the video I knew this must have existed for spicetify but couldnt find it anywhere in the built in marketplace
Congrats on the buck and getting back far enough to not be surrounded by people. My brother and I have gone up in those mountains twice now and saw nothing but people.
Nice work and nice video. A lot of editing and effort goes into making these videos and you did a fine job.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I fought that fire ya'll from all that burn and am hunting that area this year
Good luck!
Meanwhile back at the truck…the other forkies are licking salt off the tires…..
Great video but the music though…
