whenever you are adding wires to the battery terminal always disconnect the earth wire first, then do the positive terminal, and attach the earth wire last. That way should you accidentally short the posite terminal to metal no harm is done.
My engine management light has always been on from new , the same as my Honda from new also . They cry wolf , if I could remove it I would . Don't sorry about it . Took a 1000 mile tour on mine with no issues and do my own servicing 👍
Onya David. Hey does she cruise on 100kph no problem? Like for hours?
What is the point of doing this inspection in the dark I know you live in Scotland but they do have daylight
Nice video, I was on Mull recently and camped at Fidden Farm. I stopped into the small Spar shop in Bunessan, there was an American tourist asking if they could buy a tent and sleeping bag, they couldn’t grasp the idea that it wasn’t like Walmart. They then asked if they could book a Uber, the shop assistant caught my eye as if to say “help me”. 😂
HI, yes Calgary gets its name from this place, the pink granite pier is where the ships sailed to Canada and beyond when the laird's cleared the islands of people. its a beautiful place pleased your enjoying the isles.
Hey Budget Biker, enjoy your videos very much. Thank you for your efforts filming them. Great looking countryside to ride in. I ride my Meteor in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado USA. Great motorcycle for the riding I do. Have a great day and thanks again.
Glad you like them!
Good to see you back
Needn’t have worried about the roads, they were designed to cope with roads in India. If the Meaty copes with them it’ll go anywhere 💪😎
It’s my spine that’s worried!
@@davidcampbell9004 🤔 I see your point 🤭
I bought a 2022 V85 Guardia D’Onore earlier this year. Love it more now than when I first test rode it. Yes, controls are different than in most bikes but you get use to that. Short screen feels more like a naked bike but the taller screen which I have is much better. I like the character of the engine. It’s a keeper.
If you put a carberater convesion the bike will run much cooler and your oil won't be cooked to death. Your engine will last much longer.
Ed Turner said 20,000 miles off the line my boy. His motto on the quality of his motorcycles. The new RE 350 should have hydraulic valve adjustment and belt drive and a kick start like the RE 500.
9k on my meteor in just shy of two years. My management light comes on in October and usually goes out in April or May. I just think of it as my winter warning light. I'm still on my original tyres and chain, but to be fair don't ride in all weathers. I've put the touring seat on mine and I must say its the most comfortable bike I've ever owned. In fact, best bike I've ever owned, just love the combination of its price/comfort/weight/mpg.
Really enjoy your channel
Glad you enjoy it!
Interesting what you said about the tyres after the change. I don't find the Ceat rubber inspires much confidence, it's okay but the front end feels slightly vague with little feedback. I'll certainly be putting something different on when they are worn.
I’ve changed tyres on every other bike I’ve owned and never really noticed anything different about the ride at all. This time however, it was like riding a completely different bike. Almost felt like learning to ride again. There was still plenty of tread left on the originals, perhaps they had squared off or something. The difference was amazingly noticeable.
Look after your tools and they will look after you. So my friend please take a little time to clean the Meteor, I have one and it’s still sparkling 🏴
Pretty sure if the engine management light is on it won't pass an MOT. I may be wrong on that though.
It’s due in October so we’ll see then. It goes off again when it feels like it. The cold weather makes it come on, especially up here in Scotland. Strangely enough, it sometimes comes on in the summer too.
Just shy of 17,000 on my meteor, use it daily and its a great bike. I very rarely clean it and its held up to winter brilliantly. Won't get much better motorcycles for the money
Bike be running smooth now, with smile on her face.😊
Great that it’s covered 10,000 miles. Am on 3,400, but due to my health don’t ride out in wet/ cold weather. It’s purely for pleasure. Noticed you put Avon tyres on. I all ways thought, I will put on Michelin or the Avon. I got the intermittent management light too. Proving to be a very good engine.😊
This little bike is a cheap as chips and as tough as nails. The best buy in the motorcycling world.
Thanks mate. I've got the tank off cos I've changed the battery and am adding some heated grips and another set of USB sockets inside my panier and I realised it's an ideal opportunity to do the tappets and I got out me 10mm and me feeler gauges and then stood up, me lips pouting like an amorous salmon... "I forgot how to do it"!!! Saved me bacon, thanks!!
Glad it helped
New subscriber, keep up the good vids. Will one day ride the north coast on my meteor 350! 😊
valve adjustments and what watch are you wearing if you dont mind
It’s a remote control thingy for the GoPro.
I am planning 5 day trip on a 20 yr old bike from Winchester to Elgin this summer
Great country! Fabulous bike! Awesome ride vidro! Thanks for posting! Love from India❤️ 🇮🇳
Glad you liked it!
Are you keeping the 350 Meteor for 2024
More than likely. I’m toying with the idea of changing later in the year. But I’m sticking with Bluebell for now.
Perfect roads for the little 350, you don’t need anything any bigger to really appreciate it, the meteor does really make a cracking little tourer, all the best buddy 👍
Thank you
Brill new video, thank you for posting! I commented on your Lomo Panniers video re the Meteor - I ended up with a Classic in the end as the riding position suited me better but love the engine. I also got the same panniers & racked up just over 3000 miles so far. Love it :-)
Thanks for sharing!
Welcome back. Happy new year 👍
Best bike I've ever owned so far.I have a 22 Travel model.👌
Stayed there in Oban hostel, I believe the people left it to the SYHA in memory of their son who commanded a submarine lost in the far East in WW11
1 minute ride on a 350 ruclips.net/user/shortsDzm_xuOqpv8?si=qpk6aWVmW8zlswgm
Called over twice on the bike in recent years travelled on over to Claonaig then up the west coast, just bought a Stellar Meteor so maybe next year again dv
Se una persona non è all'altezza può anche evitare di "tirarsela" da collaudatore!
I'd advise swapping the rear shocks for the endurance gas shocks 20-30% improved ride over stock 😊
As for the view, that's nothing, you should see the views in snowdonia in Wales 😉
They are much happier cruising at 60 mph which they will do all day 😊
I too have a supernova in blue with just over 3000 on the clock bought mine used as well ,first job I did was remove the exhaust and clean it all up ,no rust or pitting at all just dirt I was expecting rust but none present the difference as you say you're in Scotland I'm in South Yorkshire ,I'm really enjoying this bike it just ticks all my boxes well done Royal Enfield :D
Getting conflicting information from sources. Im curious did you rotate the crank CW or CCW?
CCW - RE manual is wrong!
Hi mate . Looks like you’re in Sw WA ? I live in margs. I’m about to purchase one of these bikes . Really appreciate your review. Thanks a lot .
Can I ask you with the touring screen do you have any issues with wind buffeting on the helmet, I was going to get the supernova, but found on the test bike that at 5,10" at 50mph it made my head bobble around, so bought a stellar 😊 I think it's dependant on the height of the rider 👍🏻
I have no issues at all with the windshield. Reports are mixed, best to go for what suits you.
your chain and sprocket look like a graveyard 😆 if you clean and lube it properly it will last way way longer. that thing has a center stand so it easy to do.
You pointed to the cruise button when you said it’s high beam , the high beam was on your finger in the front of that switch console
Had his finger on the trigger (high beam/flasher) the whole time.🙈
Thanks . Always good to get real owners experiences rather than once around the houses pro reviewers, which is just a general impression. Interesting, I have the Classic and the Cat is just a straight unit without the under frame box. Thats probably why the classic has a bit deeper exhaust note. However the cat will be going soon anyway . Replacing it with a Hitchcocks decat pipe just to let that wonderful power plant breath better ( DNA filter has already helped) That said I did treat my cat with ultra high temp manifold paint from new so no corrosion at all . And im fussy about looking after all the chrome as its the Red and Chrome model . I never use normal car metal polish on it as all that does it take the chrome off. Because unlike old chrome its no longer applied over brass and nickel plating layers. The non heated chrome I just wax the exhaust I use marine Autosol which is so gentle it can even be used on boat grp gel coats. Lots of boat chandlers stock it. Any how thanks for the vlog Lee
Another good video. I have Gerbings gear as well. I can really recommend the heated socks. It’s much more pleasant when you can keep your whole body warm. The only thing I still need to get is a heated balaclava. I really hate being cold on a bike when with the application of money, I don’t need to be.
Thanks for producing this video. Great to see the Himalayan touring around our great state.
Beautiful countryside & enjoyable ride
wipe the pipes with WD40 for CRC using a rag. This will help protect them from corrosion. Other thing you can use is fish oil in a spray can. Perhaps get rid of the collector box (catalytic converter). This should improve performance & economy. As long as your local authority doesn't check for that sort of thing.
How comes you didn’t show the hairpins.
I had a look at this exact bike in the same green color. It is the base model of the V85tt line. Higher models come with various options including side luggage and rear trunk. But they don't come in this green. It would cost more to buy the base model and add the options but if color is a priority then it is worth it. My son bought the V7 stone and it is a nice bike to ride. Simple, reliable, efficient, and joy to pilot. My biggest issue with the V85, and other adventure style bikes, is the seat height. I am not overly tall at 5'7 with a short inseam so getting on the V85 is a bit of a challenge and I cannot flat foot the bike at a stop. The dealer said they can lower the seat by removing some rubber pads underneath. Not sure how well that works. And they offer a lower seat but you give up cushioning. They did not recommend lowered suspension and I kind of agree with that. So I am still considering the bike. I like the light weight, simplicity, air cooled, pushrod motor, shaft drive, and the overall looks. Price wise it is also a pretty good deal compared to the competition, at least here in the states.
