Repairing a hacked and bodged Audi TT (8N) instrument cluster
How bad can it be? This was a lot worse than we were expecting and way beyond the typical LCD replacement. It tested our repair skills but despite the mess this Mk1 Audi TT cluster was in, we were able to restore it to near as-new condition.

I wonder if there is a way to adapt the cruise control arm so a button can be used instead such as when you swap in a lancer steering wheel or outlander steering wheel with built in controls.
Perfect timing...!!! The screen in my 92 RT/TT just started acting up. I have a few spares of unknown quality, but as an ex Navy ET, i dont mind dusting iff the skills and doing repairs!! Interesting that the unit suffers the same malady, bad caps, as the ECUs do...

What would be the cost to repair one of these units let say from light to severe damage?
Great video. I usually desolder one side of the screen and bend it out of the way. It can handle the bend if you only bend it twice: once to move it aside, and once to move it back.
