This is the worst ive ever does as ATC. my brain was basically fried by the time i had the instructor take over. my heart rate was through the roof and i felt like something was going to happen that wasn't good. there were a lot of factors that compounded on top of each other to cause this failure, one of which was my management of charts on the other screen, which took up a lot of my time. next time, I will have a different way of managing them to help prevent that one downside to this OTS. My brain was so fried I went to bed almost right after this stream, where as normally, it would have been about 3 to 4 hours later. I then couldn't fall asleep until about 5 AM because every time i would kind of go to to sleep, i would wake up basically re-living the events that transpired that night as if they were real planes with real people. those moments are still playing in my head as a sort of PTSD. im not even sure when the next time I will control will be. ill get back on the horse eventually, but im not sure when

It takes a lot of self study to learn it. For me, actual on the job training and actually doing the thing helps me learn. If you want to learn to decipher it all, the documentation is available here vnas.vatsim.net/crc Specifically, i am mostly using ERAM and you will want to look at the sections for data blocks

I get distracted easily. I dont often build computers, so im making sure i do it right the first time while having conversations with people

Well, i paid money for the pc, so im reading the instructions to get it right the first time. I also get distracted easily, so that doesnt help

I live in Louisville. So lots of my ATC time on vatsim is in the Louisville area, now I control Louisville, Plus 8 other approach facilities

vatsim its flight simulator with actual people playing or flying and he's basically being there coordination for landing and take off like in real life he's being the tower

This is Vatsim. It is a Virtual Air Traffic control network that connects together many flight simulators. I am one of the air traffic controllers in the US. I specifically control indy Center an underlying approach facilities and towers.

I graduated from being just a tower controller like 2 years ago. Now im working the approach airspaces and more recently, im in the late stages of working 1 of the US Centers

Vatsim is 100% free. I did apply to be IRL ATC in april, but the FAA is a slow government entity

It is FltPlan Go. its a free app you can get on any IOS or android device that real world pilots use. then you need FS2FF to be able to connect MSFS to it

There's a few reasons why I didnt. The club i often fly with was flying into LZU The event that was happening that day covered LZU, PDK, FTY and RYY I didnt have time to fly to anywhere else, nor would the weather be cooperative for another flight. I almost went to RYY if it wasnt for the weather (I would have wanted to go VFR) Thanks for coming by the channel

The generic crappy default AI atc? That would be asobo. What is used in this video is Vatsim. An ATC network that connects together many different simulators (MSFS, FSX, FS9, XPlane 10, 11, & 12, P3D 4, 5, & 6, and Flight Gear) It uses volunteer members as the ATC. I am one of those people, but i also fly in the sim

This one includes a lot of airports, but you only need to use the part that includes bowman: flightsim.to/file/14235/usa-airport-layout-enhancement-package this one improves some of the buildings: flightsim.to/file/58093/bowman-fiels-klou-buildings

I usually fly group flights when The Pilot Club or the Virtual USA Flying club. sometimes im on my own. Any time im flying, you are welcome to fly along. usually flight info is posted in the #upcoming-streams channel on discord
