Fastest autofocus - ZONE focusing and hyperfocal distance
Просмотров 400Год назад
Hello guys, I was thinking to share the way i shoot my street photography most often - by prefocusing and keeping luck on my side and don't destroy good opportunities and moments by misfocusing. This technique is very popular amongst street and documentary photographers but try it for yourself and you will see ... maybe staying with classical autofocus or even manual focus is more for you...tes...

Hey guys, today I did POV [point of view] style of video from my first trip to Belgium. It was great experience and fun to be tourist with camera. We've got amazing sunny day and in combination with historical centre of the city, it was great trip. I watch POV street photography videos all the time, it's great way to see other photographers in action and to train your eye to see potential shots...
ISO doesn't matter

Hello guys, so i decided to share my take on "high iso". Yes it feels like quite obvious decision but I found myself abusing it a little bit and its working for me. ISO does matter, but only high enough so I can capture moments on the streets as I please and that's the sole purpose to me in my Street photography. And if you are worried about picture quality there is good solution too .... so wh...

5 routines to improve your photography

Hey guys, as we started this new post apocalyptic year I would like to share 5 ways how to improve your photography. 5 routines to implement in your life to bring photography closer to you. We all need to question our intentions and motivation, and what we actually want out of our photography. If your motivation is simply having huge social media following (not so simple indeed), you might not ...

Street Photography triangle 2.0

Today's video is about street photography triangle, upgraded version of well known photography triangle ( Aperture, Shutter and ISO). This one is not about how you do your pictures but what you capture. I feel like those three are simply the most essential parts of photography in general and are worth our attention, while i am sure that those three are actually why we do photography in the firs...

Inspiration for Street photography from comic book
Nice content, yet the music is disturbing. It distracts from your message
I enjoyed this video. I like your 3 Lessons series too! I wonder what 3 lessons you would discuss of Ernst Haas work?
I believe all of Winogrand's film had now been developed and archived. There are no undeveloped rolls anymore.
Hey, your videos on techniques are good. But why this one with only mediocre shots of the couple standing in front of a shop with their back towards the camera, the two cyclists just driving on the road, etc., etc...? Ok - these are photos taken on the street but does this automaticly quallify for street photography? Where is the wit, the surprising moment or at least anything interesting? No offence meant but this is the problem of most of the POV videos: you have to come home with some results so most of the RUclipsrs just show even the most boring and mundane shots only to have a video they can upload at the end of the day. So please, go for GOOD and INTERESTING and FUNNY and THRILLING and UNUSUAL pics but not for random shots of people walking down the street. This is so boring and being reproduced a million times before......
The photo of the women looking out the door is by HCB. otherwise a fine intro to a great artist.

Do you have permission touse Alex Webb's images in your video?
I have contacted Mr. Webb and even shared this video with him but haven’t heard back … but how did you know it was his photos ? I credited them and didn’t make profit out of them I did talk about his art for people like us to aspire for better things … as this is not the only video sharing photos with credit on YT I don’t see any problem… thank you for your comment
Thank you for showing more of Gary's work instead of you just talking.. Other Youtubies should follow suit.. 🙏
Eccelente! Thank you 🙏
I was 'trained' in London in the 70s. Cameras were clockwork and many had no built-in exposure metres. DoF & shutter speed were the in-camera manipulations (same as it ever was). Today's cameras have hundreds of adjustments which are usually gimmicks, except in unusual circumstances. Good lenses, good judgement and simple technique are usually the way to go. The best gear is the gear that you can afford and control. All the rest is marketing.
Thank you for this.
I'm not a street photographer and merely an enthusiast, but I can see two major approaches, the stalker and hunter. Stalker can spot the light & composition first and wait for a game to arrive, while the hunter just resort to the instinct & experience to capture a decisive moment that appeared in front of him/her. With the stalker approach, we see far too many variations of the obvious light & composition combo, especially on familiar Instagram hunting grounds on Social Media. The hot button will depend on the chance for an interesting subject, such as HCB's the boy with two wine bottles or the jumping man. As for the hunter approach, similar to PJ that walking around the hunting ground for the victim(s). The prayers will only get answered when the stars were aligned with the right light & composition, liked the background subject with the right color clothing & height appeared only on the second of Alfred Eisenstaedt's V-J photos. Of course, the chances that some photo ops came from the combination of both and visual thinkers and talented/skillful photographers may look at the scene as a whole visually, without breaking it down into structured components.
rerender this video with a decent audio volume. its not that hard.
Sorry to hear that you have issues with it, I know now it was wrong in camera settings. I will see what I can do, I didn’t thought it was this big problem
Thanks!
You are most welcome 😉
Great content marred by very low volume audio
Needs to speak up!
Calmed myself maybe too much 😂 sorry guys for that … also still getting use to those audio settings (in cam and in edit)
@@Uni_sono Good luck with this in future. I just turned on captions and that helped. (They're not perfect but have their own poetic random quality.)
I did have to turn up the volume a bit but didn't have a problem hearing after I did. Great content. Has me looking at Eggleston in a new light for sure. Thanks!
Thank you very much .. yes I had bit of fun with audio apparently but it’s just lower and as you suggested we all have volume button…. 💪 thank you again
fantastic video, thank you
Thank you I appreciate it a lot my friend 😉🙏
The pic at 3:04 is not hers. It's HCB's.
Thank you for sharing… will be more careful next time 🙏😉
I like the presentation here, with full page exhibition.
Thank you I appreciate it 🙏😉
I mostly shoot like this, and have been doing it since I shot film. Now it is even easier with auto-ISO. F/16, hyperfocal, 1/500 and then I let the ISO go as high as it needs
That’s the best ! And you play with compositions colours and have actual fun 😉
Nice work! Would love to shoot there
Thank you 🙏 yes I would love to spend there more time honestly 😉
Great shots! Cannot get enough of Ghent!
Thank you very much 😉🙏 you have been there ? It’s very romantic city with its mood and vivid but still calm I loved it
@@Uni_sono Never... only online ahah but it looks magical. I love places like those. I am from an area with a lot of historical architecture as well, in Lisbon. 👌
Well Lisbon might be different story, I have been in Porto and it was amazing place … and I love about Lisbon(what I saw online) that it looks like European San Francisco- in positive way
old cities. . . almost a complete lack of the natural world.
Maybe I don’t understand what do you mean ?! Natural as greenery or world without tourist ? Maybe example of “new” city with abundance of natural world ?
This was fun! Really nice images. Brussels looks like a fantastic place to shoot!
Thank you very much 🙏 It really is … plenty of different architectural styles and diversity of people and plus you are just another tourist who takes photos ….
@@Uni_sono Absolutely! Great conditions!
I agree 100% in candid street photography getting thé shot ans thr moment is what matter! Plus I beleive you shoot with à fuji x100v and personally with this camera I m not score to go up to 6400 or even 12000 coz the noise on this sensor lok almost like film grain so I dont see it as à problem in some situation I even think it give a pleasant texture to the picture
Exactly then it all depends on personal preference but nothing should stop you from getting the photo 🤘🙏 thank you for insightful comment
@@Uni_sono I agree nothing should stop you from getting the photo , yet I might be wrong but on your pov you really look like you are afraid of confrontation... I fond you are often quiet far from your subject for the focal lengh you are using, you compose very fast and move from the scene very fast without working the scene and everything in what we can see from your body langage tells me you are not confident in taking those images. Home I dont upset you , coz I like all your vidéo about fameuse photographer and stuff but with all the knowledge and passion you have on the subject it would be a shame not to work on it , coz il sure your pics would improve a lot ... I Know esaier said than done im still struggling with it and its à permanent fight against myself
@@bnwstreetfr1275 well you hit it right … it all depends on the city I am in … and I live in France and people on the street don’t care about your right to photograph they will screw your day if they feel like it … especially after lockdowns I felt that way but didn’t thought it is that obvious 🤘😉 will surely work on it
@@Uni_sono I get you 100% I m french and leave here too so I Know how difficult it is ... going to Portugal soon for vacation hope it Will be easier there... and It is not that obvious its just that i facesd the same problem thats why i switched to 50mm thé x100v i was in love with it but the 35mm equivalent was difficukt to handle here
Absolutely… and it’s shame … so many great scenes here and legacy of Doisneau, H.C-B, Depardon and many more …. But yea French people are indeed difficult
You surely see things we don't ! 😯😊 I liked the small intro with some shots of the city !
Ah nice thank you very much I truly appreciate it 🙏😉
Great insight!
Thank you Jerry, I appreciate it 🙏

hey unisono, I'm a photographer and writer who just came upon your video from youtube shorts. I have a few hints and tips for your video and have noticed a few areas where your video can improve. You're the only one I have ever seen with a video about Salgado. I respect you for that.
Well thank you very much I appreciate it … yes for me too Salgado is huge inspiration and doesn’t get nearly enough attention! … I do know my videos need improvement but feel free to share your insight I am curious if there is something I am missing out… 🙏
Nice, interesting, good recommendations. Congratulations on your first 1K subscribers. I am one of them 😊
Thank you very much 🙏 happy to see you get something out of it … more will come

He’s one of my favorites. I took an image directly inspired by his work just the other day. If I wouldn’t have looked at his work so often, I may have missed the composition in front of me. I’m so proud of the image!
Amazing 🙏 that’s exactly why it is so important to look at the work of the best …. Happy for you
What do you use to edit the photos? Beautiful
Thank you very much … for more “serious” edit Lightroom but if I wanna edit on the spot it will be Snapseed in my phone (free app) …. These photos in this video are edited in Lightroom 😉🙏
Steve is a cheater
What do you mean ? Any information we didn’t have ?
Very good! I also use mostly small cameras Canon sx 210, very flat. Also old Minolta Dimage G600, BW is perfect. Few others. I cannot see screen in summer or in Video had great clips.bright light! Video had great clips!
Yea those small cameras tend to have lower quality of display (and of course smaller size) in summer it’s like freestyle almost. Although small cameras have some limits as you said for fast B&W from your pocket those are absolutely amazing ! 😉👍
Amazing video as always!! I am suprised that you haven't researched S M Z E U S.
I am a real person and I love your content - we have talked before. You have a high level of achievement, be encouraged.
Graham thank you very much 🙏 I highly appreciate your words…. It’s very nice to hear it sometimes 😉
Matt brother, I really like your suggestions, I hope I don't have to rush to make my profile by applying them. The thumbnail of your video was amazing. All the best to you and your channel.
Thank you brother 🙏 I appreciate it a lot … let me know how did you progress
@@Uni_sono 🙂
niceeee 👍
Yes indeed John is as always right on the main point. 👏👏👏👏👏
Exactly his opinions and energy has always inspired me 🙏😉
@@Uni_sono same here. Passion for the power of our work
Nicely written 😉
Gary Winogrand is one of my great inspirations in photography. It’s the message, the story, the humour that makes his images great!
Absolutely… the humour and the way he observed… pure mastery 🙏
Excellent Such thought provoking ideas Exactly what I need to watch right now. Thank you very much
Thank you very much my friend glad you see value 😉 and good luck 🤞
why do you put graffer's tape on the x100v?
Actually did it already on my x100s … Iike the almost minimal black look, it doesn’t receive many looks and plenty of people thinks it’s film camera so they don’t care “as much” about me
Beautiful portraits
Yes that is Steven’s trait…. His portraits are even more magical on huge prints ❤
