So what is the point of the spring then? Is it a redundant item in this machine? I have a disk Stakka with 100 historica/archive disks in it - I cant access it via current windows 11 - or my iMac - is there a work-around for current day use or are these things just junk now? Your commentary is good, thanks.
Hey Jefferson thanks for watching. From memory there was 2 springs in the machine so removing one would allow less pressure on the rubber rollers thus allowing a CD to come through. Unfortunately I don’t have the disk stakka anymore but would recommend running an older version of windows in a virtual box to run the Opditracker software.
what software / drivers do you use to run it. do I have to go back to windows 7 or earlier?
Hey Sean, Unfortunately I have gotten rid of mine years ago so can’t really tell you about compatibility with newer operating systems. I would say your best bet might to run Windows 7 in a Virtual Machine using something like VirtualBox.
Anyone who are watching this has a driver for this? I just bought one with out drivers :(
Try this web.archive.org/web/20061105143523/128.241.54.214:80/downloads/win/firmware/Setup.exe
It’s the web archive copy of the drivers before they were taken down
@@Zathire1987 Thank you very much. I'll try it on my Pentium 2 pc later on.
hi - seems a bit random after all this time but I picked up a stakka from Salvos Sinnamon park and it had the same issue. have taken the spring out and may shorten/replace the belt. Wanted to use this to burn many dvds to mp4 with handbrake or similar. Do you need Stakka software as I could not find any. Using my old white Macbook like you had in the video. Mark Brannigan
rip my ears..
Works for me... might give me a couple of more years of life out of the Stakka, and certainly saves chasing hard-to-source belts. I'm keeping the spring in case I end up getting new belts. Thanks for posting Aussie ingenuity :D

My cousin and I were the only really young kids allowed to go on this ride
I hate rides
GENIUS. REMOVE ALL THE SPRINGS. PERHAPS REMOVE THE TOP COVER AND THE MOTOR ,PERHAPS EVERYTHING . JUST USE THE SLOTS MANUALLY.
This works well when everything else has failed (including replacing the belts) I even tried to replace the belt that drives the load/eject mechanism with a rubber band that was a lot smaller than the original and even that did not work so thank you very much for this fix.. I never would have thought to remove bits to make it work!
AWESOME!! before i saw this i was, after trying to fix the belts with tighter ones, mucking around for hours trying to retension the springs to no avail!!! i never thought to remove one!!! GENIUS THANKS MATE!!! you saved my disk stakka from the rubbish!!!!!
This ride is the best ride ever I love it
Hi... please drivers. tks
I went on this ride and it is my favourite to this day!
Genius... Fixed my faulty Disc Stakka perfectly! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks a million! Been struggling with wondering what do do with all the loose CD's I would have if I had to dismantle my stakkas! Such an easy fix and one you'd never think of!
Big ups for this!!! Fixed my unit after all of these years of struggling with ejecting CD's!!!
It works! Thank you so much!
Cool

i love the space roller, freaking best ride ever!
great tutorial! thx
I have replace the right belts. They are o-rings because of the better grip. O-rings you can offer everywhere in each country. Look for cheap prices. The measurements are following. Diameter 80mm x thickness 2,5mm This is the largest o-ring Diameter 53,67mm x thickness 1,78 mm for the motor in the middle Diameter 52mm x thickness 2,0 mm for the motor in the back. Differences of 1 mm in diameter does not matter. Succes and good luck
What's the point in the music?
This was a great tutorial. Very fast and effective. Thanks so much (but the music was a little loud, but who cares... the info was worth it!)
thanks bud, that was a good and fast tutorial..
fuck yes. show tomorrow!
the space roller, my favourite ride <3
lol
Thanks for a easy to follow video mate. Good work!!
Thanks emailed the company that makes them, happens all to often theses days NO REPLY found this tutorial and was fixed in a couple of minutes, Thanks
This was so helpful, thank you! I have been trying to get this set up for days!
Thank you for your time!!!!
You get over this ride within the first 30 seconds, then you just start feeling dizzy and sick at the end. It's not worth it, especially if you get sick easily on rides. I went on with my friend and she vomited at the end of the ride, thank god haha. But I felt dizzy after it, spend your tickets on the XXXL, speed or No limit. They are they thrill seekers.
This ride isnt scary, im 12 and i was seated right on the end even though it kept making 1cm away from hitting something it was fun
Works so far, thank you sir
@Zathire1987 Its been a long time since you uploaded this so I hope youre still monitoring comments. I set this up long time ago - wish I had seen your vid - its much better than the method I used. Seems there's a new problem though & directly related to your last comment. Seems after Airport firmware 7.5.2 (7.6 or 7.61) external drives won't spin down anymore. I try downgrading to 7.5.2 as suggested on Apple forum. Worked for couple hours, but its not spinning down again. Got any ideas?
How much do disc stakkas cost?
Oh my god why cant I find this video for WINDOWS!!!! its driving me insane. I have a 3TB with EVERYTHING on it and Im tired of plugging it in...
Nice work Zathire1987, did the job!
Again, very helpful tutorial, but that music is just annoying!
For some reason I can't see my hard drive on finder although airport utility does
Thanks soooooooooo much Now i can connect with galaxy s2 Thanks
@lplother Try a medium size rubber band, I remember seeing somewhere people using them instead of belts and they work just as well, haven't tried though. On another note thanks for your support!
Thanks for video, it helped:)
This was the ride that made me so sick i wanted to throw up. Luckily i didn't. If your planning on going on it.......it wasn't that good.
Really clear concise instructions, it took 8 sites before I found this clear explanation. Could you leave out the background music if you do another, it's just a distraction when you're trying to do something complicated
